NY Retired from Mods. My WWP in peak shape.

I know there is a Volk thread, a White thread, and an Agressive Wheel Fitment thread but since I'm declaring my modding retirement I thought my 8 needed it's own thread.

I know it's a mild look (inside and out) but I'm happy with the clean image.

I'm lowered on Tein H-Techs and it can stand to look a little lower but in NYC I'm happier with keeping my lips in the city.

The wheels are Volk SF-Challenge:
Front - 19x8.5 +34 245/35/19
Rear - 19x9.5 +36 275/30/19
Had to roll my rear fender and file off parts of the rear bumper sheild inside the wheel well to prevent rubbing.

I took a whole bunch of pics in Long Island City, Queens, NY and here are a five of my favorites. BTW If we wanted to do some Queens meets I think meeting up in LIC would be good, low traffic and lots of parking and great shots.

Let me know what you think of the car and the pictures. It's my first photoshoot and next time I must have my wife pose with the car so I can post in the Hot Wives thread too! LOL

I think it would look good with black rims too. But I like the look how it is as well.

If only you didn't have to have the front plates.

Oh, and nice pictures. You've got photography skills

Nice clean WWP. I love them wheels. I can't believe you had to roll your fenders...it doesn't look like its close to rubbing.

Looks great! Doubtful you can truly retire from adding mods to a car though. You will be back

Love the wheels and stance. DO you have any problems with potholes and other absolute crap on NYC streets? BQE eats suspension parts like theres no tomorrow.

As for more mods, really, I think I've had enough. I was thinking about an MS front bumper or painting my roof black, but like rodjonathan says, it's just a clean subtle look in person.

If I had to go wilder, I would have to lose my mind! LOL

As for the fender rolling - it was absolutely necessary even with just me in the car.

I haven't driven on the BQE yet but they have vastly improved roads there and I didn't have much compliant after they repaved the bridge area between LIE to Metropolitan. Also the H-Techs are slightly softer than stock (IMHO) and the ride is a bit more cushy and so it feels like my wheels take a bit less abuse. I'm just worried about the Cross Bronx and New Jersey.

I also have not driven into the city yet but I don't forsee any problems at low speed - these wheels are pretty strong. I'm glad I went with 19s but just wish I still had TPMS function.

'bout time, i was wondering if my wheels were ever going to have another rolling life. those sf's have been sitting more than they've been on a car!!

btw, i'm going to be up near NYC first week of august. we should meet up and grab dinner.

Car looks great man. Don't see a whole lot of 8's on H-Tech's.

When you ride on 19's you don't have much of a choice. AND he lives in the mean streets on NY.

Where they pave the road every 15 years.

Hardly around that area. The farthest I will go is (iirc) exit 35 for the LIE coming from Brooklyn. Everything in between the Verrazano and that will send chills up your spine (literally).

Actually my brake calipers and rotors are painted, but in black.

I know a lot of you will laugh but I've always painted my calipers with BBQ Grill Paint. It's high heat, cheap, and provides anti rust protection. Brushes on easy too!

I have a box of Dulicolor though and may redo them to look extra clean, it's been 3 years since I applied the BBQ Paint....
