I am posting this for a fellow Texas racer, REDRX3RX8, he stopped by the SARX garage this past weekend to shoot the **** and then headed up to Harris Hill for the weekend.

Auto's can do it too!!!

Actually he is not dropped at all, just hitting a dip in the track at 80MPH.

i think i may have spotted him on hildebrand the other night it rained. i flashed my lights at him and so did he.

 

He is a nice guy, came all the way from Midland. Here is another of him passing the Mustang.

Very nice. I just love pics of RX8's passing cars. And a Mustang is always good for a laugh.

I'm just sayin,,,

 

Yeah, he said he was up his *** for a few turns so the guy finally GTF out of the way.

 

It's the guy's that think just because they can go faster than you in a straight line they'll leave you behind. But you eat them up in the corners.
Finally they succumb to the superior handling abilities of the RX8 and bow their heads as you pass them. God I love it!

 

I love it too, pretty impressive for an auto. Just goes to show the best mod is the driver mod.

 

It's the same car if not better in the corners. In my opinion.

 

Just sucks they are hit with the power penalty.

I'm pretty sure most tracks make you pass on the left too

 

Not in my area. (so annoying, not to mention dangerous)

 

Truth is, this was a HPDE event, not racing. I can visualize the proper line, and I saw many all over the course, but me and the Mustang were very close whether I or he was in front. He moved over for my easy pass, and I might have done the same for him. I meant to find out what tires he had. I've got nearly worn out Kumho SPT's, and I was getting about 8mpg with severe loss of power on curves both directions. Any second run after full tank can lose power. So next time I'll go top off after every run instead of every 2.

I hate to say it, but the Honda S2000's were blasting past; even a 91 CRX Si left me behind, but I was loosing power then.

Yeah, I got a 6spd auto which shifts at 7200rpm, but it has about the same pull out of the corners (torque), and I like the way the 6spd auto stays in gear for several more seconds when you jump off the gas because I'm real uncoordinated.
