expo1- thanks!, this is definitely a pretty sweet change.
I only had to pay 100$ for the tire unmounting/mounting and balancing. I am pretty good friends with the son of the powder coating shop owner, I helped him out with a few of his IT issues and he got this knocked out in a day. Not sure what the standard price is normally to get rims powder coated.
As far as painting vs powder coating i am sure each has its pros and cons.
Im sure painting them would have yielded similar results. But from what i have seen from powder coating these wheels is that they look like they came matte black from factory, no drips or blemishes its a perfect finish. The paint wont flake or chip unless i curb one of the rims. I definitely recommend getting this done it completely changes the look of this car.
