Only time I've ever lost was in a Chevy S-10. Early ones had defective gas gauges that showed 1/8 tank at empty...
In the 80s when gas was $11 a barrel, unemployment was 25% in south Louisiana and I was repeatedly being laid off and unemployed, I often paid for gas with loose change I scrounged out of furniture and ashtrays.
I rarely complain about high gas prices because that means more jobs in the oilfield.

Sonic: this was a car meet I was at a couple of years ago with some friends.
Pretty sure my RX-8 is parked 2 or 3 cars down from Konig's white 8 that is visible on the far right of that pic.
