Oh damn yes. Driving my MX-6 in the sweltering heat was a nightmare. Sure the AC wasn't great, but much more disturbingly is my car wouldn't move. It was absolutely terrible. I've ran a 15.2 with my minor upgrades, so the car isn't that slow (in fact some guys are running their 8's slower than that). But there must be a 30hp difference between night and day in the summer.(Actually I figured the temp difference only accounts for about 8 ft-lbs of torque due to air density). I doubt the color of the car has much to do with the temps under the hood though.

I vowed to get a vette, so even with the heat I would still move faster than I could ever want to go. However, the RX-8 is calling my name really bad, can seat four, and costs a lot less. We'll see. That's the fun part about not really needing a car. I can look at cars and test drive as long as I want. At least until the heat picks up again.

Here are some pix including the recent swap to 17" wheels and snow tires. I don't have any pictures of my RX-8 dirty It's not hard to keep clean. It's taking the time to keep it clean that may be hard. I try to wash it every couple weeks. I'll hold off if it is supposed to rain in a day or two and let mother nature help. The wheels are more difficult with this car. At first, I was wiping down the wheels every other day! They can get real dirty real fast, especially the fronts with the brake dust. :p

We are supposed to get rain, sleet and snow over the next 24 hours. If I find I'm not too puritan, I'll take some dirty pictures in a couple days.:D

I"ll be getting the appereance stuff on it, so i am leaving it @ the shop for 1.5 weeks :-/ then i'll take it home with everythign on it..i think thats the best choice (i hope :-/)

You asked for dirty pictures and here they are... really. I have not edited the pictures in any way except for size and cropping out the surrounding clutter. These pictures were taken Saturday the 20th. It snowed last Sunday and Wednesday afternoon. Heavy rain Wednesday morning, lighter rain Wedneday evening. For reference, the bottom picture in my post above was taken Saturday the 13th aftert the car was cleaned.

Lookin' good! The strakes should be standard instead of an option. They just add sooo much to the agressive looks of the RX-8.
