Here are some pics from our drive to Tortilla Flats, AZ.
Good twisty road and only about 30 minutes from home.

It's about 50 miles East of Phoenix. At the base of the Superstition Mountains. Where the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine is located,so the story goes.
The road going out to it is full of twisties, and beautiful scenery.

I only drive that road at night...
Kinda scary, but that's half the fun.

It's more or less, playing with death. I haven't gone there for a while, but I've been meaning to.

Not because of crazy Initial D fads, or for "racing" other people, or even drifting but just to go out and have a spirited drive with some friends, whose skills I trust for driving those types of roads and conditions, and have a good time.
The reason for nighttime is less traffic, and more of a challenge, and that's when we would always go driving back in San Diego, where Im from.
It's just what I'm used to. I would have gone, but going during the day with that much traffic, and seeing those cliffs and how steep they ACTUALLY are... I'll pass.

we were driving in a huge '76 delta 88 and following a camper or 2 on the way out. when we'd come to a curve adn there was a another camper headed the other direction is was SCARRRRYYYY waiting for one to knock the other over the cliffs.
