Yup. Alcantara is a trademarked fiber used, from what I could tell, in a whole bunch of Eurpoean automobiles.

Alcanthra, in a google search, brought up a man's name (didn't read) and the following

First pix via that URL is an amusing shot of an irritated woman--waiting for someone or something ---while two guys talk cars. (The white haired man looks a whole lot like Bill Clinton. But that doesn't "fit" this senario. Can't imagine he'd be anywhere without the secret service).

The original cloth seats have been trimmed in a mixture of grey leather and alcanthra.


So, perhaps *alcanthra* means a certain yellowred, or multicolored combination, or a special fiber, or....

Perhaps the gentleman who used that terminology will kindly post a pix???

I think what the gentleman was referring to was that he would prefer Alcantara (faux-suede) over leather.

Alcantara is widely used in alot of cars these days, Honda, Lexus, Mercedes and Porsche to name only a few.

As I previously stated, the Recaro seats which came standard in my DC5 Type R Integra was Black Alcantara.

Hespra, my use of the description "pimpmobile" refers predominantly to the use of white leather as an interior....not the paint colour.

Ive watched every episode of Pimp My Ride and they have not done parchement interior to my knowledge. I actually like the Black Cherry. That is a bad *** color. Now if you put 100 spoke gold Daytons on it and had a mural of a half naked chic painted on the hood...you would be pimpin'. Maybe a little crushed velvet wouldnt hurt either...

Makes that limited ed. parchment leather interior pale by comparison.

Been looking at swatch books for custom leather hides. Saw some really stunning black on black tooled patterns. The one called *alligator* intrigued me---exotic and yet soft and very subtle at the same time. One would have to be within three feet to notice leather tooled and not just flat black. That with smooth anthracite (very dark charcol), and just a touch of distressed dark brownish-burgundy accent is where I'm headed. Also liked a black/anthracite/greyed moss green combination. Dark, unique and tasteful.

I like it. I think it's a classy color. A little purple, yeah, but subdued. It's not a Barney-mobile. The seats look good too. Had my fill of all-black interiors. For some reason the chromed headrest insert really appeals to me also.
