just figured i'd share some pics of my 05 RX-8 and of my 1980 RX-7 Leather Sport. brief history on the LS: it was one of 500 made in solar gold (total production was 2500, 1000 brilliant black, 1000 aurora white, and 500 solar gold) and came with leather seats, shift ****, steering wheel rim, and headliner. the LS was introduced on 5-28-80. it was the equipped with the GS's list of goodies which included a sunroof, power mirrors, rear anti roll bar, solar gold aluminum wheels (unique to the LS), and a/c (which is the original R12 and still blows ice cold). i am the second owner and the car has only 61K original miles. i think its nice to see the LS and the RX-8 parked together.


























it just goes to show you how far we've come with the technology of the rotary sports car. its a night and day difference between the two cars but i love them both. i'll share more pics of both in a couple days. i'm in the process of rennovating the LS. i've had i t in storage for a few years. i'm tired of seeing it sit, so this year i intend to drive it and enjoy it.

yup, just turned 61,000 miles

 

on a side note, i have been getting roughly 19.8 mpg's in the RX-8. this is far better than the 13 or 24 mpg's i was getting in the colder months.

Super clean car! I envy people who can keep their cars that clean and mint. I drive my car like I stole it everday so its hard to without washing and waxing it every other day.

i have been railing around town but...thats my police car..i park it in the street to slow people down because people speed like animals past the house and i have two little kids that like to play outside. and my daughter is now scared of cars because of the speeders that fly by. she used to love to sit in my cars and pretend like she was driving and now, not so much..which kind of upsets me..she used to love the 8... i can however post more pics of the patrol car if you'd like.

thank you for the compliments! its hard to keep the cars clean. the LS is so clean because i hardly ever drive it. unfortunatly the RX-8 is dirty right now and if the weather cooperates, i might wash it today. i recently got it back from the body shop. it lost in a battle with a shopping cart. someone intentially rammed it against the 8 a few times and left it laying against it. ******.

 

definatly keeping the LS original..or as original as possible. i usually restore one RX-7 per year and never really modify anything. most stuff i replace is done with oem parts from the dealer. i'm picky like that i guess.
