Picked up new gear
Am selling my Legacy spec.B in order to have more funds to put towards establishing a photog business - to that end, I've added to my gear, because it's easier to buy gear than talent! :p
In:
Canon 1D Mark2 N
Canon 17-40 f/4L
As I'll focus (pun intended) on sports photog, the Mk2 will help a lot. Here's a comparison vid of my old (now my daughter's adopted camera) vs. my new:

After using this new camera body the past month, I'm VERY pleased with how it performs. Taking shots at a local bday party yesterday I was able to capture fantastic photos of the kids as they slid down, and crashed around a large inflatable water slide.
Here are a couple shots of that event...
I have the whole series of this event, from her hitting the bottom to going up and over.
I have one series of pics showing me throwing a water bottle into a pool while tracking the bottle with the camera, shutter depressed. I thought it was pretty neat.

So - with the new stuff my list is:
Canon 1DMarkII(N)
Canon 20D
Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS
Canon 17-40 f/4L
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 70-200 f/4L
Canon 300 f/4L IS
Canon EX380 flash
I've also go a tripod and monopod of a make I've forgotten. My idea is to shoot sports with the mk2 and the 300 on the monopod, and the 20D and 17-40 around my neck for when the action gets closer. I might need an assistant.
Have also a hot-light kit - but likely will sell it for strobes.
if anyone needs set-up shots of their car (FL, GA, AL, etc), just holler. After I buy a generator, I'll have lights to travel!

I do it for the love of the art - decided to try and make a few bucks at it too.
re: taking pics.
To quote Iverson "Practiss....we talkin' about practiss...."
And...post. The pics I showed up there are 'snapshots' really - just neat captures. But to be a photographer, one must get very good at processing - which is more than 50% of the deal.
