Ok, I have a sunlight silver base model RX-8 with the 16" rims. I dont really think the 16" rims look too bad on the silver but Im looking to replace them this summer.

I am interested in a few different Motegi Rims and will more than likely be getting 18" in either silver or hyperblack. I need some opinions on these....

I was very interested to start with in the DPK's once I saw them on MikeB's and MDW's and started to search around on the forums where I came across this thread that turned me onto the FF5's as well! https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=Motegi

Where I need help is I was wondering with switching from the standard 16" rims to a larger size do I need anything other than new rims and tires to fit them on the car? Stupid question but I need to be sure! Also if there are some photoshop whiz's that would be so kind and maybe give me a look at what these rims might look like on the photo below.....

I know that is a lot of stuff but to me I have to make sure when it comes to my baby.... Im sure you all understand where Im coming from

I like the Motegi DPK, the second one down. Go with that one. But thats just me. Are those the standard 16" wheels with the automatic? or did a dealer put those on or somethin. Cause I got a friend whose dealer put Enkie (Enkei or however you spell it) rims with no charge.

I LOVE my DPK's, I also have the FF5's on my Eclipse, I had them on the 8 for a week or so and really did not like the look. The FF5 is too flat of a wheel for the 8. I admit it did grow on me a bit over time but the center cap sticks out with the red lettering in it. I have RO_JA Formula 5's on the way for the 8 so my DPK's may be for sale soon... hint hint, they have about 8,000 miles on them, I got them last year just before the Nopi Nationals.
Great wheels but kinda hard to keep clean.

hey bro those 16 inch rims gotta go. It just doesn't look right on the rx8. I say go either with volk racing or racing hart. especially with a fat lip dat rx8 will look sweet. I recently checked out some rims at super autobacs n those rims are around 3g's not including the tire. I'am not sure if autobacs has a web site. They are based in city of Stanton southern california.

 

Ok, so far I get the feeling it will be the DPK's but with my sunlight silver RX-8 would it look better with the polished silver, gun metal or hyperblack rims? Im kind of leaning with the hyperblack just to make them stand out a little from the car but what do you all think?

if you have the same rims, why not take a picture of your's?
