Painted Calipers & Tint

Well i just got my car off the jacks and tested the brakes. I painted the wheel hubs black and the calipers blue.

Before I started with the calipers, I got tinted, 20% all around, head lights, tail lights, and fogs. The head lights and fogs are Optic Blue.

And now the calipers/wheel hub:

Masked the area of the rotor that the brake bad touches.

Next up, paint the engine cover and sway bar...

I used a can of High Temp red mixed with OEM VR and black for mine. Cost $5.00 Painted on by brush and the results are fantastic.

The blue looks great, almost a match to WB. Does it have metallic flake?

Thx man. It has ceramic in it. I was thinking about using Duplicolor MetalCast because that has a metal flake in it.

Hahah! Well I was thinking blue for the rotors, but it would be too much. Plus i just hated the look of the rusty OE rotors.

Thanks man, I went to Lowes and got a drop cloth for when i laid the caliper parts down for paint. I also got 4 plastic drop cloths. I used them for the inner wheel wells and the ground under the wheel wells.

Oh oh and 80 grit sand paper. I had some major rust buildup.

why didnt you just pull the rotors off if you took the entire caliper apart anyway?

I didn't know how to take the rear rotors off. That and with my luck i would have stripped the 2 screws on the rotor face in the front.

Regular tint on the tails.

Headlights and fogs are Optic Blue. All tints are from Llumar. They offer a 5 year warranty on their tint. I had mine professionally installed by Shades of Gray.

IMO they are the best if not one of the best tinters in south east PA.

Here is another Optic Blue.
