Very Nice!....what type/brand of paint did you use for the engine cover (etc.) parts?

I've seen some others on the forum that have done this, and the more I see, the more I like it.

It is Plastikote Spray paint and the closest color match I found was for GM models...
I have never spray painted anything so I was nervous but its very easy, I taped it all off and put three coats on each pannel...just take your time and do it from a distance of about 8 to 10 inches away, Very Easy!

Looks pretty good esp. for someone who's never done any paint work before. -The official car of Blue Man Group.

Very nice quality work on the engine cover, and the other parts for that matter.

Not too sure if I like all the other parts in the engine bay you painted as well though, seems a bit too much. Maybe I would feel different if I saw it in person.

Great job on the brake rotors.

Somebody else here on this forum posted pics of their blue calipers, and I didn't like them then, but for some reason, I like yours better. I'm still partial to red, but if you're going to go blue, yours look good.

You should also put a coat of clear on the top to make it shiny like the car and protect it.

Wouldn't the clear coat melt off under that amount of heat?

I got to see WHEALY's in person not long ago.. and I must say, the blue is best to customize details in IMHO.

Was it hard work doing the paintjob on the brakes...? (I assume you dismounted everything and then painted...=)

I was fortunate enough to have access to a lift and take all four wheels off at the same time, otherwise I would have not had enough time to pain all four calipers before the paint started to harden beyond use...As far as ease besides that, removing the calipers was a breaze and I just used mechanics wire to hang them from the springs while I painted them.

Aiiight,,, I´m thinking of doing it myself but in red. Starting early in the morning and it should be done in one day, although I don´t have access to a lift. =)

Anyway... It looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet...=)

This one is my girlfriend's Uncles and he only pd about $1500 for it because someone bought it but could not use it, this particular one would ordinarily cost a little over $3000...its real nice!!
