Smile Painted Brake Calipers??

I'm thinkg about painting my brrake calipers but not sure what color. I'ts a black 8... red or black??

pictures and opinions would be great!

some say its rice but whatever def doesnt hurt the way the calipers look.. i say go with red if u want it to stand out if not just do black, once u go black ull never go back

yeah im in the process of painting mine red also...i just got some high heat engine spray paint for mine think that will work good?

yeah i think that paint should work well

where did you buy it?

and yeah pdx im planning on taking it all apart and doing the best job possible

Black, make sure to use high temp or brake paint or else the paint won't last more than a month. Be sure to paint the heat shield too.

The sell brake paint kits that includes high temp paint, paint brush, brake cleaner, and wire brush. Just buy some clear to apply after you are done.

i bought a can of clear and then when i sat and thought about it...i just got a can of regular clear coat...wont that just melt off/ look like ****?


unless im an idiot and bought wrong kind of clear...which i prolly did

Do you want them to better blend in (black) or better stand out (red)? Your choice.

[I went for black myself]

G2 is arguably the best caliper paint system: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/g2/caliper_paint.jsp

Just remember that whatever product you use, as in any painting, it's all in the preparation.

Yes, you have to special order a high temp clear coat.

I think shiny hot red would look great, not that shiny hot black wouldn't look great, too, but I think red would give it a really cool touch.

I used one of Mazdaparts Caliper Paint kits in red and got some high temp resistant stickers to put on them and they look stock. Very nice finish.

BTW, my car is black with red calipers.
