quick question
i recentley have bought some blue bwr extended open end lugs for my stock wheels, i have heard of people wheels falling off because this are aluminum, should i go with some steel ones? please |
aluminum are a lot easier to strip and their life seem to be shorter.
I think theres a video somewhere with a GTR on Fuji speedway where the wheel flies off and the aluminum lug nuts sheared off the studs. |
wheel lugs got stripped today.at goodyear? yeah i know i should use a impact wrench. anyone have some suggestion on some steel one that i can get.

http://site.icbmotorsport.com/New3/V..._SetBlue_3.jpg They're also expensive... I'm after a set of the above.just wondering if anyone might be able to help me. It seems to be a minefield out there with plenty of fakes on the market ranging in price from $50 - $200. Places that actually sell real ones seem to be few and far between! Now I'm after a red set, shipped to the uk. I've seen that a genuine set will come in at around $400.00 ... Which is fine BUT I've been quoted as much as again to have them shipped over and $800 for wheel nuts is bit crazy. Anyway - 2 things then. If anyone could point me in the direction of places where I canbe sure I'm not getting ripped off for fakes and if anyone could perhaps find somewhere that doesn't want to take me to the cleaners to ship over here, $50 - $100 in shipping is bearable, $200 to $400 is a bit silly :-) Hope someone can help! Anyone tried VMS aluminum locking lug nuts?

So are aftermarket lugs not acceptable for our 8's? I was thinking about getting some to make it look a little more cooler but most say not to use on stock rims. :Wconfused I looked around to try and find if the OEM lugs are the ball type or the conical type? Sorry for posting a year later :yelrotflm
