I know there was another post about this, and it linked to autofiend but you needed to register so I don't know if this is the same pic that, that post was referring to. This new pic is on their main page though and looks pretty damn hot.

That thing is way too tall! If thats the new 7, I'll just keep my FD But luckily its just a photochop job of an FD, RX-01 and RX-8. I would expect the new 7 to be much lower indeed.

Big deal. It's still only an artist rendition. It means nothing to me. I'll believe there is a new RX-7 when I see an actual photo of one, testing somewhere like Tsukuba or Nurburgring, or perhaps at some future auto show, only then will I be able to rejoice.

If the '7 does come back, meaner and badder than ever, I'd have to agree, it needs be a little shorter. But it certainly has beautiful potential from the looks of the rendition given.

why would mazda bring back the RX7? why not keep it RX8 now? maybe that is the 2nd generation RX8 and not a new RX7. i have not heard anything from anybody at mazda even comment about a new RX7.

The reason mazda should build the RX7 is so it can have a dedicated sportscar flagship. The RX8 is going to be a great car, but it does make a few compromies. The RX7 would most likely be a higher powered and lighter version with only 2 seats. It would please those who want nothing less than a true sports car.

 

Another artist rendering of the RX-7? I never seen this pic before and it looks like someone took a pic of the RX-8, photochopped it and called it the 2007 RX-7....
