Whoa. That styling is off the wall! I doubt the RX-7 will look much like that (especially the head/tail lights).

I usually put the "hand-drawn spy pics" down to entertainment rather than insight into future models.

me likey!! i hope the rx8 is a big success so that the rx7 becomes available yet again.... maybe the rx8 will be so good that the rx7 comes out with the new renesis and with a turbo version, only more reliable....

Did you notice the tiny pop up headlight in the top picture...very unique. Yeah I'm sure the new 7 wont look too much like these pics but it is nice to dream.

It's just a CG by the magazine. They love speculating on the designs, and turn out a ton of drawings. Some are real enough that you'd never tell it was unoffical.

That RX-7 is pretty cool. those headlights are weird..... the RX-8 closer to the middle is messed up, who would wanna do that to an already awesome car????

if they do come out with a new style rx-7 i still want the back of the car to look a little similar to the FD with the smoke lenses. I think the rear of the car brought out the beauty in the RX-7....but the front did too.........gotta love those sexy curves....this car was an ace from inside to the outside. Definitely the most beautiful car from japan, ever.

It was deffinately the prettiest car to come out of Japan, I agree. Even almost 10 years since it introduction, I still get chills and drool every time I see one on the road. A 4th gen. rx-7 absolutely must retain much of its styling cues.

That is perhaps the most gorgeous car I've ever seen. The front especially, it's like the best of an old-school Jaguar and the classic 70's Vettes... yet is it's own vehicle and also tied thematically to the former RX-7. It's absolutely breathtaking, an automotive work of art.

I hope Mazda is paying attention, because that design (or something similar) would both break the mold (I'm SO tired of the current trends) and become an instant icon. The media attention alone would be worth making the car. That's the kind of exotic beauty that sells posters, makes young boys drool and dream, and forges an image that can be the flagship of any line.

Go for it, Mazda. We're already waiting in line.
