check this out alienRX8

This 350z is running the stretch look. see how flush the wheels are with the fender? that car looks really agressive with the low offset and stretch look.

the s13 is running a stretch look and again see how flush it is? and no this s13 is not on bags it was featured in superstreet a couple of months back its on coilovers. and last pic is a Q45 with a stretch look.

All preference is what it is and these cars are not rice!!!

idk man to me it just looks like the guy didnt have enough $$ to buy the correct tire size.

I get that its so you can fit the wheel in but then why would you lower your car like that. I dont get that kind of modding. To me its all about performance and nice looks, not extreme looks. But to each their own.

And thanks for the explanation, I had no idea people did that. I guess here in Puerto Rico you dont see that too often because I have never seen it hehe.

this car is running a 18x9.5 all around with a 22et. i think these tires are a 225 or 235, the tires are stretch. im not sure what size tire i saw the specs in a magazine my friend has!! this car is not on airbags. its on coilovers

the specs of this burnout car is in this book.

HYPER REV 101 vol 2

no problem your the only one that had the common sense to ask why people stretch the tires. at least you know now theres a reason behind it. Its definitely for looks for some, but you'll see some drifter cars running stretch and they abuse the **** out of the tires and go through them like its nothing. VW owner love stretching their tires too!! yea if this person in the pics puts the correct size tire that was intended for the wheels they would probably have to run a higher offset or go with a widebody kit or flares on their car. i'm not sure about the s13 pic that i posted it may be running some overfenders im not sure, but you get my point now why people stretch the tires.

Thumbs up

hey guys the rims are 18x9.5 and 18x8. offsets are unknown but i think they are low 30. The tires came with the rims. I gave him a kick *** deal so he couldn't really argue. Hey how many people have Jlines on this fourm anyways!

can you get a deal on them? i liked the way you stretched the tires did the tire shop have a problem mounting them? my friend put a 225 45 on a 9.5 and the person mounting them was bitching!!

Not working for me. Kinda unsafe too. Air pressure goes down and in a hard turn it slides right off the rim. Maybe get some curb feelers too.

My friend owed me some money and gave the jline's that were brand new along with the new tires as payment. I think he was going to put them on a s14. Why the hell would anyone put smaller tires if they had a choice. It came with brand new rims and tires.
Who else has these rims on the forum?

i never really heard of anyone that died due to stretched tires, everytime you race you take a risk, so i dont see how stretching your tire is unsafe. mine are stretched and i dont have a prob with air pressure going down, im sure if you ask Dom he will say the samething.

i got my wheels with the tires already on them so i had no choice but to run them until they wear. the rears are 235/40/18 and it makes the tire look way stretched but whatever, i saved money by buying the set with tires already loaded. for the time being, ill keep my tires stretched until i have to replace them with wider tires

It all comes down to preference!!! This whole stretch look is a big debate even on the rx7club.com site. Its been around for years and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Its not a big deal. All i wanted to do is give geetleaf his props on his wheels and explain why people stretch the tires. Oh well its a forum and just the internet!!
