im also using 5 mm spacers. i want to know if that is safe?

 

with spacers you run the chance of vibration at higher speeds unless you are running hub centric rings.

 

Need to drop it about 1 1/2 in,and it will look good!

they look good. Gonig down to 17s will make the ride a little better. I hope you have stiffer sidewals to makeup for some of the performance though. Also is your 8 a MT? I just want to know if the wheels clear those massive brake rotors of an MT sport.
