....thinking of installing new doors.... ones that open upward, having the car as a 2 door instead of 4, (i'll be pricey, but it'll be nice) any other rx8 owners think this would look good. i think it would look sharp, but i cannot photoshop and i can only picture it. my car is painted with 9 way kameleon metallic paint, so the car's curves make it look really sharp, i think the angled doors would look good. any takers?

also, anyone know where i can get that kind of custom work done in canada?

 

there are some pics somewhere from a show that had a 8 with lambo doors i think...do a search you should come up with something...

 

There are lambo kits available that tout a simple 2 hour install with no modifications required, although losing the suicide doors wouldn't be an option. This was discussed before and the pillars are load-bearing, so they need to stay.

umm do those actually open far enough for someone to get in and out? it certainly looks like it would be difficult in those pics.

 

sorry but lambo doors are played...you'd just end up looking like a civic...(civic owners do this now..its the "cool" thing to do")..and plus if its your daily driver its not very functional unless its a showcar...

I actually think the doors make it a bit unique. For a show car it's fine. My personal tastes wouldn't go that direction though. Drop the spoiler is a must.

I don't hate civics to be sure. I had a 90 Civic SI hatchback and it was so fun to drive (mind you this was back when it was new and the ricing phenomenon hadn't really hit like it has now.) And then my wife wrecked it three times....sheesh.

If this was only a 2 door car, I'd like to have my doors the DeLorean doors... put in the Flux capacitor in the rear... and it would max out at 88mph.
