Hopefully it's a matter of the 8 having styling cues ahead of it's time, and in 5 and 10 years people will be saying how beautiful the lines of the 8 are, and how timeless they will be. :D

Look at what I parked my yellow car next to tonight...

Yes. It hurt me to look at my car afterwards.

I also shot a very short and shitty video of the car with my phone. Not really worth your time to watch but it's all I managed to get before gf screamed at me to walk away.

By the way, full size photos from my phone look like **** so the left photo is smaller than the right one so you can see it in smaller, better quality.

Hmmm, it likely hurt the Elise owner as well. We're used to look at 8s from all angles all the time. That's why the Elise looks more ... uhm ... fresh somehow. I guess it's the same thing the other way round, the Elise has a playful design too and looks a bit like a toy besides the 8.

The Lambo pic is different though, its tough look makes our car look like a toy ...

Well think of it like this...He/she probably parked next to you because they knew your weren't some soccer mom in an SUV that would ding the hell out of his door.

Thats great. I love it when people with really flashy and nice cars park next to me. In fact, the more expensive and exotic the better. I know that if its an expensive exotic car, the owner will probably take extra care not to ding my door when he opens his. I always tryto park in the very last spot of a row, even if it means walking an extra few minutes. Then I pray for the one person who can park on my side, to be a fellow enthusiast. One time I came out of work and found a VR 8 parked next to mine. I was so proud because there was like 50 spots open so much closer.

The sad thing is the Gallardo has regular doors! Lamborghini decided not to put vertical doors on that model for some reason.

Jeremy Clarkson loved the fact that the doors were simple and basic... he isn't one for exotica and looks, he just hungers for performance and simplicity.

not to hijack a thread, but get this:

i parked in front of barnes & noble yesterday, out away from all the crappy poopoo cars, & i sat in my car for a minute to try to find something. as i was about to finally get out, TWO FERRARIS, a red F360 & a black F-fricking-430, parked on either side of me simultaneously.....i almost shat myself, & looking back, im surprised as hell that i didnt. the cars belonged to a couple, & they were arrogant enough to pull this off........OH MY GOD.
even though the buttheads did this, i still couldnt take my eyes off those gorgeous cars......holy crap n a half!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of people getting into them because they are the "Poor Man's Lamborghini" if that makes sense. It's like a Jaguar X-Type or Acura TSX. You get the name but come on is it REALLY a Jag? Do you really think the TSX is real Acura?

Hell no. The jag is a dressed up Mondeo and the TSX is the Accord Euro. This is the "baby" Lamborghini. Hell, it doesn't even have the trademark vertical doors.

Isn't it interesting that the exotic cars, supercars....don't seem to be obsessed with the clear corners thing? I wonder if you look in the exotic car forums, if every other post is "DUDE you GOTTA get clear corners!".... one of those things that make you go "hmmm".

hehe walked out one day at the other end of the parking lot another black 8 exactly like mine parked next to me i was like hmmmm sick, my best moment was when i was driving to go paintball, two rx8s one tg one white next and in front of me, behind me a srt4 and behind to the left a sti. idk but the feeling of just being there was a great moment i cant even express it. i have past one murcielago before car is wide as hell and it made me feel like crap.... plus the owner of a pizza chain always makes it a point to park his black ferrari next to my black 8 i hate him for it.

Okay champ. There have been many lamborghinis that didn't have vertical doors, including the originals. They are just as much, or more, lamborghinis than the ones with vertical doors. In fact, more lamborghini models have come without vertical doors, than have come with.

The Gallardo is the entry level lamborghini, and at 180k, the buyers could walk over to a ferrari delearship and buy, what must be the poor mans ferrari.

Blue Eyes makes an interesting point--- when you are shelling out 180k + for a car, the term "poor man's" is completely immaterial. I don't believe there is such thing as a poor man's Ferrari or a poor man's Lambo... because honestly, the people who can afford those cars can easily go to the Mercedes dealership and get the flagship (excluding the SLR) SL 65 AMG for the same price and have a top of the line Benz.

Even Top Gear made fun of this fact... in the F430 review they made a point about it being the "cheapest" Ferarri... oh it's only 113k pounds! (I think thats about 180k US dollars approximately... someone check the exchange rate).
