I need Opinions on what to do with the front of my car.
I talked to Scott down at Mazsport and discussed this hole that i might get
cut into the bumper cover it will help w/ feeding fresh air into the turbo rather then having it suck up all the hot air produced from the radiator and intercooler. The design is the same as Marcos Acosta's Rx8's
Here to make things easier I'll post pictures. Any comments will help.
Even if it's harsh, the hole seems to be a like it, or don't kinda thing.

eh i dont like the hole. car looks hot tho. you should just get a vented hood to help with cooling

I like it, as long as you use the carbon fiber hood with it. The Vertex kit, in my opinion, is just too clean to have a hole in it without other aggresive aero items.

 

which kit do you have?.....doesnt the mazsport kit have the filter by the drivers side oil cooler?.....if thats it then a hole there is a waste and will destroy the kit

Yeah, it does usually. Scott said that having the air filter up top where that hole is would eliminate a bend, and it would feed fresher air into the engine since it's not mounted near the Radiator, Oil cooler, and IC.

 

I think a hole like deedubs would look better. I think the rotary shape and circular hole is overkill.

 

measure underhood temps before assuming you need to do anything like this.

a bend in your CAI isn't going to hurt.

Its made for a 350Z,it may not fit the contour of the Vertex but Im sure you can fab it up to fit...

 

vertex will look better with a squared off hole rather than circular because of the shape of the kit....
