Exclamation Need Help!

Ok I need some help. The wife is giving me a hard time about getting the Rx-8 as my next car. I have a 2 year old and one on the way. She currently has a Subaru Outback and will be getting a mini-van so baby mover is covered IMO.

What I need are some pics of people or kids in the back seats, doors open. Hell even a short video clip of maybe a couple of kids getting into the back and so forth would help alot.

All I hear is it looks too small to me... It's not practical.... your car is only 2 years old...

I'm hoping to get one after my 2nd turns one and would be forward facing. Not that it would matter, my wife is 4'10" so should be room for a rear facing baby seat on the passenger side.

Thanks in advance.

I'm 36 with a 3-year old and a 6-year old. They fit in the back seat just fine and prefer being in that over the Suburban.

I know there have and I've sent those posts to my wife. She won't go to the dealer because we are not ready to buy yet but I still get the comments whenever we pull up next to or park next to one. "It looks awful small..."(compared to a wagon and SUV of course).

I was hoping to show her some snapshots if anyone has any so that I can say "See it works fine for other families so it would work fine for us."

When it comes time to buy one I'll do the whole take the kids, put the carseats in and test it out.

I had my 3 y.o. niece in her carseat for a long trip and she did fine. Her seat actually fit perfectly in the back seat...better than it did in my sister's SUV (Lexus LX470). It was like the seat was made to fit in the RX8, or vice versa. My dad is 5'10", and he sat in the back for a 125 mile trip and said he was not uncomfortable in the slightest. He was surprised he didn't hit his head on the back window. While it is a little difficult for adults to get in and out, I can't imagine it being hard for kids, or to lean in and put them in their carseat. If your wife really wants something a little bigger, and you have a little time before you want to buy, you might look at the Mazdaspeed 6. If I had kids and needed a sedan, that's what I would look long and hard at.

WHY IS THIS IN THE GALLERY??????

Since I was asking for pictures I figured it would be the best place. Perhaps not.

You have to get the RX-8.
It's a moral imperative.
The fuel economy might be so so but,

The 8 gets the most smiles per gallon...

I think you are missing the point!

She's getting a new family car.

You are wasting money on two car payments instead of taking care of the family.

If money wasn't a problem you wouldn't be here asking for permission

Thank you,

They put on a good show.

5 minuntes later it was...

"Daddy, he stole my >>insert favorite toy here<< Give it BACK!!!"
Give it BACK!!! Give it BACK!!! Give it BACK!!! Give it BACK!!!

Ah, the joys of children.

Even if money weren't a problem, (it some how always is, though)

I would still have to "convince" my wife on a less than the standard family compliant vehicle.

Although the RX-8 was an easy sell, after my Miata you can't get any more impractical.

But she realized a long time ago, my affinity towards autos.
Life is too short to drive boring cars...

In this case money isn't the issue, I would trade my Murano (or sell it outright) and get a 2004. I can get a 2004 RX-8 for less than I can sell my Murano so I would make money on the change of vehicles.

Well I think those pics quieted her down. I don't think I'll be able to convince her to get it this year but maybe next year. Then I can get a used Shinka!
