I gave her a hand wax job and dressed her up right. I wish there was some Sun to show off the shine.

Nice. Anyway, is that a CB antenna?
|
The graphic and the antenna just make me sad. They take away from the overall appearance of the vehicle in my opinion. But, to each their own. Looks good and clean regardless.
|
not gunna lie .... but I am slightly embarassed to be driving an S2 knowing you are on the road with that abomination ...
but as long as you like it... |
Oh boy.
|
lol the cb antenna makes his s2 look like a life size rc car.
really this is somewhat sad to see. But it's your car, do with it what you like. |

really this is somewhat sad to see. But it's your car, do with it what you like. Don't insult me. That's not a CB antenna. It's HAM Radio. 10 meter, 6 Meter, 2 Meter, and 70 centimeter. I'm a storm chaser. I hunt Tornadoes for Dallas and Ft. Worth. None of this TV crap. I do it for real. I use that radio as a direct link to the National Weather Service. That's how I lost my Dodge Pickup last May. I got rammed by an idiot while I was reporting bad weather. You call my graphic an abomination with all the wings, graphite parts, useless air holes, and crazy bumpers other people add? LOL! |
Lose the graphic... or buy a civic

LOL! as graphite you mean cf? yeah cf is lighter than oem and other materials.... i dont remember seeing a rx8 with useless airholes.. if they have any kind of hole in the body its for the intake. holes in the hood promote ventilation. id rather have a bright pink veilside front bumper that doesnt fit and has ducktape to make it fit onto the body with cracks and semen all over it than that horrendous graphic. take that off, its not a hotwheels car, stop making the rest of us look bad. |
A storm chaser driving an RX-8...interesting.
Whether that antenna is for a HAM radio, CB, FBI, CIA, US NAVY SEALS, NASA or whatever, it just looks terrible attached to a sports car. And as others have said...that graphic is just wrong :( Hey, even the smaller sticker needs to go ;) But the car is clean :D |

dont want to take the risk of being insulted? Dont post a thing ... ever ... no matter how cool you think it is .... there is always going to be at least one person that thinks it looks like swollen rectum. |

The antenna just looks silly on a car like the 8. I don't care what purpose it serves. The graphic doesn't really look good either. It definitely doesn't add to the car. At least some of the stuff you mentioned adds some aesthetics to the cars in a way that works together. The graphic and the car just don't seem like they should go together.

You guys would hate the RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) magnetic sign I put on the car when I'm on duty even more. |

Until then, you'll get no respect from Dom and the gang. |

There is no way she could accurately shoot a 50 cal Barrett without a rest.

No one is really disrespecting you for the Storm Chasing. They may be making jokes about using an 8 to do it, but i don't see any disrespect. More power to you. We all have to do what we have to do to make money.
Us "Children" are picking on your childish cartoon sniper sticker than belongs on a 16 year old's rattle canned, flat black civic with eBay "racing" seats and a 5 inch tach, not on a respected sports car like an 8. You obviously shouldn't have asked for opinions since you've done nothing but show that you're butt hurt like a little boy who ran home crying to mom after the girls on the playground wouldn't let him play hopscotch. |

Sure the sticker is childish. I'm just showing that I'm still young at heart. The funny thing is, while you people (for the most part) are giving me a hard time, the old farts here at work all love it. If the derision was bothering me that much, the sticker would come off. Ain't happening. As far as my butt hurting, would you let people say this kind of stuff about your ride without at least firing back? The reason I use the word "children" is because this blog has more trolling than any other I've ever visited. Maybe I didn't understand that I'm really not among friends here. |
If you didn't want opinions you should not have posted up. Some people have different styles, so if you like it then that is all that matters. But don't get mad because no one here does. Personally I think it and the antenna ruins an otherwise clean looking car, but then again people may not certain things I have done to my own 8. But if post up pictures on a public internet forum then I had better damn well be ready to accept criticism.

And I think that happens because the RX-8 is such a unique car, that people here are generally more serious about their cars as opposed to the honda civic forums - for example - which are flooded with thousands of high school kids that have nothing better to do:lol2: |

I am. I've watched those documentaries about the clowns who do it, and I think they deserve nothing but derision. Wanna-be Home Land security guards acting like they are on a planetary mission from Star Trek..... Actually when they get out alongside the road and set up that little wind gauge thing, and start talking in '10 code', the image that most springs to mind is Ghostbusters! Just sayin. |

I got a bit down page 2, and it became tl;dr.
Honestly, I say, props for using the Rx8 as a work car. Yeah, it's a sports car, but I personally think it's awesome to enjoy it, even while working. While antenna's bigger than the ones on any service truck I drive aren't exactly hip, I think it's cool to see an Rx8 getting used more. And as far as the graphics, I think it's a neat start. Perhaps going the whole 9, or 10 yards would look great though. Some people will probably disagree, but I know there's a thread around here with some cars fully done up overseas, and they look nice. Yeah, they probably costed a good bit to do all of that, and probably quite a few people disagree with me on how they look, but ah well. It's all opinionated anyway. I'm just a little more liberal when it comes to modified cars. I don't rock the JDM EGO The Renaissance decal on my car for nothing, haha. So I think it's a good start, for possibly adding quite a bit more. I'd say making it look aggressive as hell would be ftw. |
