I nearly crashed three times on this lap. Driving the Nordschleife in winter can be tricky! It was also my last lap of the year, you'll be glad to know , as I've left the ring for my winter break.


Overall I'm still happy with my choice - but the acceleration is waaay behind my old turbo MX5. And even with the usual mods I'm not sure it's going to get much better...

 

It gets scary in little to no time when it rains, when it's dry and you know the track there are just three sectors that can be dangerous and\or tricky.
Don't be too quick to blame the rx8 anyway, it appears that you could shave off 30 secs just with a "driver" mod. I'm not bashing your driving skills, just making a suggestion!

I travel to the 'ring yearly. If you need any advice about car set-up and little tips and tricks just lmk It's easy to lose time with bad mods and with the long uphills a driving mistake can cost you 3\4 secs with our little power. 1 here and 1 there...

If you want to attend good events i can introduce you to some very good guys, the doettinger hoehe is amazing when open

 

Hi mate, I live and work here at the Nurburgring. I'm an instructor here - the tyres are terrible and every dark patch is wet - that's why I spent so much time on opposite lock

 

Nice, but you should have added this to your already existing thread instead of starting a new. It will help to keep the board uncluttered.

Great video! I think with a rear end swap, and some sticky rubber you would be quite pleased. I'd love to take my car out to the Nordschliefe!

Best time on video is actually on my old bike. I'll put it below. Best time in a car is actually identical but no video, no proof. It was a Nissan GTR though, so it doesn't really count as a challenge

Wow! That miata is fantastic!

 

My best time is 9'12.50ish (non btg) but with a lot to improve drive wise. There are some parts that I just don't feel comfortable with.
