take atleast three differant shots of the same thing. all at differant exposures going from very little to way over exposed (basically get a large dynamic range, hence: high dynamic range, hdr).the more pics with varied exposure the better. and then merge them all into hdr using cs2 or cs3 using the automate option.

Nice shots! Here's my first try at HDR, but I'm no photographer. Canon digital rebel XT, not my camera, from work

Yeah, i didn't spend a lot of time on that shot because I need to re-shoot, hoping it's better next time The noise is actually bugs(lots of them) and I was hoping they might blur out neat as streaks or something when the HDR was combined but it didn't work out. I'll have to check out the demo for Photomatix, I don't feel like buying it though--I'm just taking the pics for fun. I'll keep playing around in CS2 though. I'm also not sure if I'm using the right settings on the camera, I need to check the manual again to see if I was doing it right, lol. I THINK that the iso is at 100, not sure about white balance. I've been working as an artist using photoshop for about 15 years, since ver.3, but I know nothing about cameras.
