Great advice Lucas. One thing I would add to that is that he should listen to a few sound bytes of the different exhaust systems before he considers upgrading. Personally, I agree with Racing Beat's position about not wanting to make a $30K car sound like a $10K Honda. Their exhaust is so much deeper sounding than the others. B&B, while a good company, makes the 8 sound to "ricey" IMHO. Just do a search within the forum and you'll find all sorts of links to them. If you can't, PM me and I can e-mail them to you. :o

I just listened to a clip of the B&B exhaust. Good call about the ricey sound. Racing Beat is also another company I might go with. I like their philosophy...the looks of their products are simply an added benefit to the peformance.

The rich don't get rich by being big spenders. My brother-in-law is an orthopedic surgeon, and they just bought a "used" Lexus instead of a new one.

Nice ride and GREAT avatar! I loved that movie! Congrats on the 8, and we hope the 8 get more street time than the Ferrari!

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I love both cars...if the Ferrari had a back seat it would get as much road time as the 8. As it stands, i'll drive them both as much as possible...

I guess I should give all of you a full picture of the Ferrari...

Hey, how's the reliability of the 308? I've thought about doing something like that, but I have been afraid of it being a mechanical nightmare. Any advice?

It's funny that people think there are reliability issues with Ferraris. My car has 90k miles on it and has not had ANY major problems. Yes, service is more expensive, but the payoff is well worth it. If you get a clean one that HAS been driven and serviced, your problems should be minimal. Many people look for low mileage Ferraris...the problem with them, or any other car for that matter, is that when they sit without being driven it's not good for the hoses, seals etc. You want one that has at least been driven an average of 3k/year and has service records for at least the last 10 years of it's life. Hope this helps...
