I'd be interested in seeing if you have any chattering issues with the GREX kit. I have a buddy who has them on his Z and he kinda dislikes them. Informed me that he had lots of chatter and they weren't breaking in properly. They had to install them three times to try and see if it was install error.

That's kinda why I went with the Endless brake system. Installed them myself, so easy, perfectly bolted up. Amazing response.

Look very forward to hearing your testimony. Congrats on having a Baller8.

The Endless kit, used the factory rotor. Simply retrofitted. Provided the Endless Caliper, Pads, bracket, and SS Teflon sheathed lines.

What other size rotors can endless calipers support?
I know the one installed on your car is for stock rotors, how about 345mm and 355? I guess you would need a different sized caliper?
thanx

I have never even heard of these companies. Do they have any reputation? or are they just cheap? do they improve braking? or just add weight?

if you're asking me if I am rich, the answer is hardly. However, I would never slap some piece of **** brake system on my car because it's bigger and prettier and cheap. I like stopping, and will pay what little $$ I do have to stop where I want, when I want, everytime.

I really don't think its going to imporve your stopping power any, sure will help with brake fade on race day but thats about it, lot of $ for a little bit of looks.

To justify my stopping comment cars that stop better or equal to the RX-8 from 80mph:
Rx-8 193ft
Wrx STI 193ft
Ferrari F430 192ft
Ferrari Enzo 188ft
M-B SLR McLaren 187ft
Porsche Boxster S 187ft
Porsche 911 Carrera S 184ft
Porsche 911 GT1 154ft

Yeah thats it.... if your curious who fell short heres the list:
McLaren F1, all Aston Martins, All Audis, All Bentleys, All BWM's, all Cadis, Vette (194ft), All Crysler, Viper (197ft), Ford GT (199ft), All Honda, G35 (199ft), all Jaguar, Gallardo(194ft) Murci (213ft), All Lexus, Lotus Elise(203ft) surprized here, rest of Mercedes-Benz, EVO 8 MR (197ft), All Nissan, Rest of Porsche, all RUF, Saleen S7, All VW.... etc. etc..

You guys get the point, the Porsche GT1 is an amazing car that doesn't get enough press, and although this doesn't prove which will be better on race day since fade is dependant on rotor size, pad size, number of pistons it proves that with a single piston caliper the the 8 does absolute wonders stoping. I was really surprized with lotus considering how light that car is they should have much better numbers.

All numbers via R&T

I don't even know that they will reduce brake fade. If I had to bet, I would say these particular brands will increase unsprung weight, and increase stopping distance and do nothing for brake fade.

The GT1 is a sweet machine. It's lack of press is likely due to is astronomical price tag, and very low production number.

But didn't they stop production due to its proclivity to lift off the ground.

I'm using October 2005 what are you using?

I don't think so. As far as I know, both the Porsche and MB were built to satisfy homoligation rules for the series they ran in. The MB did fly at LeMans, I believe. But, they still had to have all the cars built to race it.

Mine was in Feb 2004

These are some of the best brake companies around in Japan. The Grex is made by Greddy.. and Endless is its own company. They are both track proven, so I would assume they improve braking.

Im not so sure they will improve stopping power.
Im not going to argue they improve brake feel/fade, but for instance the MB SL65 AMG pretty much their other supercar beside the SLR mcLaren. Stoping Distance from 80mph is 203ft..... probably not the best example because of the weight of the car and of course there are surface temps, and tires. Then not like brigestone potenzas are better then whatever tires are on the SL65 AMG. But there are plenty examples of all this carbon composite rotors and 3528234piston calipers and what do they do for total stopping distance

SL65 AMG compound braking system
15.0" compound two-piece perforated and ventilated front
discs with AMG 8-piston calipers
13.0" perforated and ventilated rear discs with AMG
4-piston calipers

I spoke briefly with Wilwood about if they were planning on a kit for the Rx-8 and my intent was to do testing for RxTuner. Why don't one of you go put some orange cones up in a parking lot accelerate up to 60 set cruise, keep it in gear and slam as hard as you can with stockers mark where you stop, then go install your new braking system duplicate the test see where you stop. Im curious comon!

Yeah, I don't know anything about brakes. How many brake kits have you installed? how many calipers have you rebuilt? probably not nearly as many as me. I have seen first hand what a poorly engineerd big brake kit can do to a car that already has phenomal brakes. It does what I said. I asked who these companies were and how good they were? I never got an answer until PoOsteR.OnLinE's, which I didn't see until now. If they have a good reputation, awesome. I'll still wait for the numbers.

If you're 110% sure that it will stop better, whatever that means, then you won't mind do some objective testing. That is, of course, if the shop you pay to do your work hasn't already put on the new brakes.

PS. I don't have blue eyes

First i am sorry that you haven't blue eyes...

Second from your point of view you maybe have right and have better knowledge on them but these 2 companies have very good reputation...Especially Endless in the top for me..
One 8 here in Greece has Tarox with 12pot huge but i believe that brakes are not as good as their value..LOL...5200$ i believe...xaxaxaxa...

Be sure mate that i ll test them very very good and post any bad-good comments here..I am not sponsored from anyone..Its just me and i am an owner like you and like everyone so i want the best from my car and i want to help everyone who is thinking same way with me so i post comments-pics-mods-thoughts etc...That's all...

i concur... endless brakes are the top of the line brakes. they do jgtc and d1 to my knowledge. probably do alot more too. not in the 8, but in the 350z i know that they had better stopping power then the brembos
