not sure on the tat - I like the look of it, but I'm not sure I like the idea of having the se3p on your side. I think I'd def. like it if it was smaller (& prlly somewhere else) - it's just too much for what it is.

Hey man, that's definitely an interesting tattoo. Just a matter of personal opinion, but I think if you got the circle inside of the rotor, that would look cooler.

Sort of a hijack but ... I seem to remember a picture of a girl with a rotor (or was it a 13B) on her back --> that was pretty awesome too!

Edit: I did a ghetto photoshop of with the little circle --> I like it but for some reason it makes it look like it says "SE03P"

WTF? Personally I don't see anything wrong w/a Chinese tat if you are a different nationality... (provided it is relevant to the message you want to display) ... I guess that is quite a pawning if it represents something other than what it was intended for! However I think his tat clearly indicates what he intended it for.

^^^ I don't think SlowLude is being racist or anything by his comment --> what he's getting at is that some people honestly don't know what they are getting tattooed on their bodies. I've been to tattoo parlours where they have Chinese characters with the WRONG translation. For example, the character for "think" or "thinking" (a verb), was translated as "genius" (a noun). It's sort of close but not exact. Another one I have seen is the character for "electricity", but the translation was "power" --> again, kinda close but not exact. My advice if you're getting something in a foreign language put on, get a friend who knows the language to make doubly certain.

 

^^ I have to agree to this too, and being Caucasian, I find (as do many of my friends) Chinese and Japanese characters to be fascinating. I had a coworker write my name in Chinese and it was beautiful, I'd love it as a tattoo. But, I trusted her of course

A friend of mine had her zodiac sign tattooed on her, Taurus. She was told months later by an acquaintance it didnt say Taurus, more like 'cow'. She was pretty devastated... with good reason!

 

Oh and I forgot my original point to posting here... props to the OP for one heck of a tat.. certainly original, hope it heals well!

I like this idea, its cool. What else I think would look good on top of this is some white or flesh colored lines in the black lines, to 'rough' it up a little, make it not so smooth and severe. More like brush strokes.

congrats. all that matters is that you like it and have no regrets. one man's art is another man's graffitti. so all the bickering really is pretty pointless.

personally, tats arent' my thing. when i need to express myself, a t-shirt or baseball cap with a print or design that i like, suffices. and, if i need to remember something in my life- well- that's why i have iPhoto albums for. that said, however, i do understand why ppl like them. and, that is their right/ choice.

 

p.s. i still enjoy reading the bickering on these types of threads tho
