And my car keeps getting darker...
i nightshaded my tails and my spoiler brake light on my old car. it made the rear end look incredibly clean. I dont recommend vynil overlays though... use Niteshade. Looks a lot better. I never had issues with the cops either. Just a thought on "what to do next".
If you want a DIY on niteshading, i can link you a really good one. It was what i used when i did mine. It takes a bit of work but the end result looks incredible! You can see how dark i went with mine. The lights show through just fine. Yes, there is indeed a brake light on the spoiler. heh, beautiful thing Niteshade.
The pic i have attached here isn't the best but you get the idea. This was taken in May i think. And you can see where i got my screen name.

You can still smoke the lights like Im about to do. You dont have to spray them with the spray tint, you can use smoked lens film. They sell precut kits for RX-8's at www.decalfx.com and theyre removable if you get bothered by cops. They have smoked, yellow, red and blue. Even if you didnt make the tails smoked you could red them out for a much cleaner look in the back. They have "how-to" videos if you want to see how to apply them. I'll post pics within the next couple weeks after I do mine.
I'm not sure how much lower it is than stock, never measured it originally. I set the height on the coils about 7mm up from the lowest recommended setting.
I'm def. not going to tint the rear taillights as I think that greatly increases your risk of being rear ended. Add to that the fact that my car was just rear ended a month ago and it wasn't a fun experience. I'll prolly just paint the badges, I have a satin black paint that matches the finish on my rims and should go well. As for the brakes, I'll either paint them black or get the Racing Brake BBK down the line.
