My body work detail Part 2a

Sorry about the right up tired. car is not perfect yet, lights still need buffed, interior completely done, engine bay, some overspray removed and some light swirls

The car is not perfect in terms of correction but im getting there and it helped having a go on my friends wing tonight...

similar panel to wing

Finished:

I used an apc diluted 2:1 and 5:1 to remove bugs and polish residue from body shop. I snow foamed the car and used the two bucket method with a megs gold class solution (i pour the wash in to a bucket of water so it lubs the sponge and the solution isnt wasted in bubbles). Car was fully dried and clayed. to be honest there wasnt really any contaminents you can see in the photo. car washed again using same method. Then paint was cleaned with a paint cleaner.

I then started to tape everything up. I used a white sonus pad with sfx - 2 (least abraisive polish - you can always take more paint off) if the car required it i went on to use a yellow pad with sfx -1, then on to a sfx - 2 with white pad and finally buffed with a finishing pad and microfibre cloth by hand.

When the car was eventually done i quick detailed it to remove dush, took tape off and gave it a quick clean. then on with Klass AIO, a prep/sealant for wax. Once this was done i left the paint to cure for about 3 hours. In this time i did interior, engine bay and wheels.

Back to car and i applied P21s wax with the applicator, buffed with a spot pad and removed with a microfibre. repeated this process twice on the car and took it out into natural light. Looking well at this point. Just to do the chrome and windows.

I washed car this afternoon and applied another to coats of wax. Its now very good.

See pics

i know pictures are all muddled up. Ones with swirls are before, last couple are the finished ones before i cleaned badges etc, just paint work.

Enjoy

Nice, what kind of buffing compound did you use? I just did mine this weekend and used Meguires paint cleaner and it worked really well!

What kind of buffing bonnets did you use? I have yet to find a good one over the counter.

Used the ones available from autopia. I use a sample of sonux sfx 1 and 2 as mentioned above. Not impressed with be getting megs 80 and 83 and finishing.

I didnt used a paint cleaner as such used klasse AIO, an all in one paint cleaner, polish and wax its called, but its just really just a post polish pre wax treatment.
