My Black Rx8 with New Rims!

3 Attachment(s)
Hey guys... here is what many people call "the batmobile" i guess the brilliant black... the unique grill... the flames that shoot out... makes it look like one? but here's my baby :mdrmed:

Well I finally got my rims... and the money to install them :)

front wheel is 18x8.5
rear wheel is 18x9.5

I love the polish lip... when the car is moving, looks nice~ the polish lip is also well matched with the strakes :)

Body kit is the Urethane Mazdaspeed and the grill is custom made... although i should repaint it... and the greddy exhaust tips i should polish up... bleh

Greddy exhaust with RP midpipe with nice flames =P

I got the platinum tints that give it a very exotic look.. I went to get black ones but when i saw a porsche get one and how it looked, i had to get it even tho it costed me $50 extra :hahano:

I have red underglow lights (which i hardly ever get the chance to use) but figured, black and red inside, red lighting would be cool... and it does look nice at night when i do use them lol. (yes some might call it ricey but it's strictly for show, i don't drive with it on) Red lights look nice coming out of the grill and makes the car look like it's floating

Hope you guys like it... cuz i love it!

Once i get black rotor brake kit... with coils to lower it slightly, it should be nice~

the grill looks kinda funny, what is it?
looks like you been through a few shares of scrapes on your front. lol

i say, drop and get side skirts. it'll be nice.

flyboi1121 05-02-2006 03:25 AM

actually, a lot of people said that about my grill the first time i posted my car... but when i took my car to the meets, people liked it a lot in person. looks really aggressive.

I did have sideskirts... but i couldn't put it on with the tools i had so i just sold them =T

as for my front bumper, haha yea... there is a X on the bumper by my driver side headlight... eh adds personality to it's badass look lol. i'll fix it later =P

lazi 05-02-2006 04:07 AM

looks good. not a fan of the front grill tho

IZoomZoomI 05-02-2006 04:40 AM

yea, i'm not feeling that grill man.

Macius8 05-02-2006 04:52 AM

what kind of wheels are these, tenzo gt5's ?

XDEEDUBBX 05-02-2006 10:02 AM

That grill reminds me of a 1990 camaro grill haha very original though.

Nice car but not feeling the grill or moonroof deflector

flyboi1121 05-02-2006 12:20 PM

bleh... i can always change the grill out and put the mesh i used on the sides for it but.... haha i wonder if i like it just because it's my car and i'm bias'd w/out even knowing it. but thanks for your thoughts

XDEEDUBBX 05-02-2006 12:30 PM

did u use a camarao grill on it? It looks dam close..

dmc27 05-02-2006 12:31 PM

Looks good to me. Like the grill, like the black on black, tho I'm biased b/c I'm going for black on black as well. Gotta have the silver lip! Shiny silver disks is all they see in motion. Nice work flyboi!

thanx man. yea the silver lip is the way to go.

as for my grill, it's from a cadillac grill we found in a junkyard. lol

sharkman 05-02-2006 01:44 PM

Funny thing, a lot of people have told me that my BB look like a "batmobile". Yeah, not a big fan of your grill, but new rims are tight.

ahh...very creative..much better than that cheap $10 grill made from chrome fender liners..hahah

mikeb 05-02-2006 02:17 PM

nice ride
side skirts would look great

Something I don't understand... maybe someone could enlighten me on this. If you are going to buy 18's why not just buy the same size rims as stock so you can use the same tires? I mean I know that the stock ones aren't the best, but it sure would save a lot of money. I also understand that these are staggered, but, still, how much difference do staggered rims make, honestly?

cleoent 05-02-2006 04:36 PM

I like the rims, they are sweeeet! But the grill.. well it's not my style.

I share the same thoughts as you too. Yeah why?

CrazyRX88's 05-03-2006 01:51 AM

Nice ride.

You're right, polished lip rims look awesome on a black car when it's moving.
I even like the grill, but....do us a favor and clean those tips! ;)

it's most asthetic... my tires had 20k miles on it and were just about done with.

in my case, my friend with a 4th gen maxima wanted to buy my wheels and tires so he gave me money for them and i chippin in the remainder to get these... so we both benefit :)

the stock tires really dont seem to last long but hey, summer tires aren't suppose to right? hehe

if u want the most out of ur car, u get like 15' wheels and tires all around or so i read...

i kept mine at 18 cuz thats what it comes stock and looks very nice w/out sacrificing TOO much on performance...

haha and yes i kno, i must clean the tips =P argh~ the dirty work... but i'll do that this weekend =D

maybe i'll try changing out the grill just to see how it looks... i need to repaint the grill anyway.

Moostafa29 05-03-2006 07:42 AM

I think I must have missed this, but what kind of rims are those?

I have to agree with the others, lose the grill and the sunroof deflector. Just doesn't look right.

Slims8 05-03-2006 08:13 AM

Wow a guy comes in to show his rims and gets bashed about his grill. Some things never change.

I love the staggered rims... not for performance reasons, but they look great IMO.

flyboi1121, nice work.

roger that! but flyboi has enough posts that he must know the risks by now. lol. :suspect:

Also - buying tires w/ rims is a bit more cost effective. The package deals will save a $100 or 3 depending on what you get. The rims I want (link below) will cost me $600. With tires $1100 (w/a decent set of Nitto or Dunlop). The tires would be $6 or 700 by themselves. On top of that saving, b/c I'm college edumacated, I have also considered the cost of buying said tires 2-3 years from now when actually needed will be more that today. But I digress.

depending on who you talk to it can make a positive or negative difference..haha

"Shanika" 05-03-2006 11:16 AM

Those rims look a lot like these for sale. This guy is in boston though. Are they also kazeras?

Looks good btw... the rims, not a fan of the grill either.
