Hi Boozehound,
Your images have a lot of aliasing going on i.e. false edges. (and they are little small)
As a suggestion, use a program other than windows explorer to do your resizing. Use windows photo editor it works pretty well (click the smooth button) or simply use paint and use the "stretch" function to stretch it how it needs to be stretched.
Otherwise looks great.

I actually did these on an iMac. My computer gave me the blue screen of death last week, and I have yet to bring it back. The pics looked fine on the iMac, but I'll try to repost when I get my machine up and running.

My PC is what died - my all purpose workhorse... The iMac I was using is my parents. I can still play with all these pics on the iMac, but it's much easier to mess with them on my machine.
