very nice. I am not mechanically inclined but what is the motorsports thingy. Don't laugh. I am guessing it's some sort of air intake filter because I don't see one. Ok nevermind you can laugh :D

I like that better than most I have seen. How is it compared to K&N. Or any other cold air intake systems. Any problems. Also how much and did you buy it direct from SRMotorsports.

The SR intake system is a true Ram-Air Cold Air Intake, it receives air only from outside of the super heated engine compartment. (Most intake systems are just a cone filter and pipe which grab hot air from around the radiator and the engine, which is why they don't have the same good Horsepower increase that this kit does.) The filter attached (internally) is a K&N filter. I purchased this directly from SR Motorsports for about $450 (their parts are expensive, but I feel they are worth it).

I definately noticed a hp gain, however I installed the intake, pulleys, midpipe and exhaust (all from SR). I honestly couldnt be happier with the results. The performance and sound are both incredible and exactly what I was looking for.

Different looking cold air intake I must say.
Good to see all these companies varying designs and trying out new things.

Very nice. Tidy and attractively maintained car. The MSpeed body kit looks really nice too. What I admire most is that you left the original rims on there because they are awesome IMO. Your obviously a classy dude!

Good Luck.

Looks like you had the platic at the back painted, or is it just the pic? Looks good anyway.

After 2nd look, it's a new piece of body work. LOL my bad

What does it take to install the fuel door?

The Mazdaspeed bumper comes factory painted that way.

You need a socket wrench and about 10 minutes of your time. Probably the easiest installation I have done to the 8.

Very nice, how is the exhaust sound with the cat back and the high flow cat, I have the high flow cat only presently and have been debating cat backs. Once of the things I like about SR is the weight reduction.

Hey, noTear316, when someone keeps their car in the shape you do without going overboard, its classy. And you have done just that. Not over done with cheap inexpensive aftermarket stuff all over the place and it becomes a mixed bag of stupid ideas/themes a sreaming "HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!" . These are the guys that get the least respect.

As they say: You can tell a person's character by the way they demonstrate their pride in what they own (cars, women, homes, etc...)

Good luck with it.

OT : why are some rx8 rear gaps way higher than some others? I've seen from analyzing this pic and another stock owners the difference is pretty noticeable. Some have no gap at all and for some reason mine included the rear gap is a lot higher. Strange.

The sound is rather throaty, definately not the whiney rice sound I was worried I was going to get. Almost makes it sound like there's a V-8 under the hood.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "rear gaps", if you mean the height from the ground, I'm sure it differs with tire size and suspension kits.
