My 1988 Mazda RX-7 T2

Hey guys. About last year i thought i was going to be purchasing an RX8, but financing and whatnot became a problem and i was left without the sportscar of my dreams =/ Instead i bought a 1988 Mazda RX7 T2 down in mass. 2800 dollars, racing beat catless dual exhaust, 109k miles, the motor ran great up until i blew it before the winter season, getting a rebuild this spring. Hope you enjoy it!

Wow looks like it was well taken care of.

chickenwafer 12-16-2007 01:49 PM

Looks good.

I have a friend with a 1990 Vert that has a T2 swap that getting a fully built and ported motor with FD rotors, monster ports, a huge T60-1 turbo, and Haltech EMS. Good for over 460-rwhp, it will be a sick machine. Always loved the FC's

chetrickerman 12-16-2007 01:52 PM

wow, that is mint

SleepeR1st 12-16-2007 01:58 PM

Thankyou! :) The car will be getting an extensive list of mods in the future, but the car will always keep the same stock look, no body kit, no color change, only thing i plan to do is polish the rims, stock everything inside and out. Of course except for the engine bay :P

Vancouver Blue-8 12-16-2007 07:13 PM

I love RX7, as much as I love RX8... very clean car.

N rider89 12-16-2007 08:03 PM

nice t2. take good care of it, there are less t2's on the road then FDs in the US.

Kel Rx8 12-16-2007 08:06 PM

that looks very clean
miss my t2

Cody Red 12-16-2007 08:29 PM

wow, that's immaculate.

SayNoToPistons 12-16-2007 08:36 PM

What are you plans for the motor when you do rebuild it? It wouldn't hurt to do S5 moldings and bumpers too :) , you already got the tails .

SleepeR1st 12-16-2007 09:28 PM

Moldings, i think i have the s5 moldings, not sure. But i'll be pushing 230whp by summer. End of summer, who knows! I dont want a quarter mile monster, i want to build it from the ground up, suspension, tires, reliability mods. I plan to drive this car as much as i can :)

Optical TDI 12-16-2007 09:41 PM

I had the same car and sold it in 2000. It was a blast! Since I've had 2 VWs, 1 Audi, and 1 WRX. Before that I had a 1982 and 1984 GSL-SE RX-7.

But I just picked up my red 2007 RX-8 on Saturday. Back to the wankel.

lesper4 12-16-2007 09:51 PM

Wow Exterior And Interior Look Great Got Any Shots Of The Cabin?

XDEEDUBBX 12-16-2007 09:53 PM

next project car might be an fc or a miata for me...nice fc btw

SleepeR1st 12-16-2007 09:56 PM

This is the only shot i have of the interior, i never really got around to taking one. But it's pretty immaculate. Everything is clean, the seats are aged, a very smell rip but they still look good. It's missing some vents and plastic pieces but nothing big.

Nope, S4 moldings and bumpers. The door and fender moldings are missing though. Are you on rx7club?

SleepeR1st 12-16-2007 09:59 PM

Ya. My name is the same here as on rx7club. I lurk around the NH Rotorheads thread a bit. Don't really post much, just a reader :)

Angry Bunny 12-16-2007 10:03 PM

Rotary Inspired 12-17-2007 04:33 PM

Nice FC. I have one of those mono white ones w/ the gold badging 88 as well. Nothing like a turbo rotary

I bet that won't take too much work. RB claims 59hp for their catless exhaust /downpipe combo.

dancap 12-22-2007 09:36 PM

mmm so much potential. Def. keeps us posted, You can make that thing 400+ hp easy.

I'd love me one of those for a project car if i can find one in that shape, miles and price!
