nice

The exhaust note sounds like an RC Airplane.

altspace 06-09-2011 01:14 PM

The video is playing faster than recorded. ;) Hence the RC airplane sound.

fastlaneracing 06-09-2011 02:21 PM

Thanks and no its not speeded up. Why would i do that?

Racing beat intake, header, catback and exoticspeed decat. Cameras are gopros hd, not the very best for recording sound. :)

Spin9k 06-09-2011 02:58 PM

Nice vid! The speedup effect is likely due to the effect of the GoPro proximity to the ground...plus the nice music :)

fastlaneracing 06-09-2011 03:12 PM

Thank you :)

Bingo! Moving a gopro (or any camera) towards the ground makes it feel faster, move it up and it seems slower. Just look at an rc car movie, it seems to move at warp speed :)

Have many hours of movie, also an incar bulletcam. Will get it rendered as soon as possible :)

c0ldf1ame 06-09-2011 04:39 PM

that looks liek a fun track!

altspace 06-09-2011 06:30 PM

just playin'. ;)

SayNoToPistons 06-09-2011 06:38 PM

The music was really annoying, but nice vid other than that.

+1... never liked when people put music over car videos, even if it's good music. I get that car noises can get annoying or dull after a little bit, but the music is annoying immediately, especially since you know some people wont like the music choice.

Aside from that, cool video. Any info on the other car?

ZOOM-I-DO 06-09-2011 07:38 PM

Great Vid!!! I like the way you let up and waited for them.

What setup to you have to take front and rear same time frame?

Please explain your setup.

Thanks

monchie 06-09-2011 10:39 PM

Cool video and thanks for sharing ;)

fastlaneracing 06-10-2011 03:57 AM

Thanks! =)

There will always be people that want music and vise versa, cant please them all... but in the longer clips I will just let the engine sing (or scream) for you =)

My camera setup is one front GoPro HD, one rear GoPro HD and one incar bulletcam HD. I use Sony Vega PRO 10 and i sync the cameras in the software manually.

Next clip is with instructor, cant decide if I should switch between cameras our show them all? what do you guys think?

I like this video better. I'm an either or kinda guy... either just music (really like that song in the first one by the way) or just the car. Both together can be annoying.

As far as the camera setup goes... the rear-view did nothing for me... I would like to see that one replaced by a bullet-cam on the steering column, so that we all can monitor the gauges. The other camera angles are spot on.

Over all... very well done!

No music was nice here, more focused. Music is OK too, just makes for a different ambiance. As for the inserts, I like the rear view, as it shows how your car is relative to others and you can anticipate seeing a pass etc. In this vid there's not much to see, but in the past I have done the same (rear insert) and in a packed field it really adds to the excitment and usefullness. A speed/rpm/track map insert is also very nice.

The driver view is pretty useless, there's nothing to see, and you can't hear the comments as their drowned out by the engine (also prop in Swedish lol). Plus shifts are obvious from the kazoo like engine note :)

Where and to what is the front camera mounted?

ZOOM-I-DO 06-10-2011 09:38 AM

I like the music on the first one but still hear the exhaust note. What bullet cam is that and which camera is picking up the sound? all of them and you edit?

Very Cool, I need to get something together for the Rolex Grand-Am race at Laguna Seca in July. I purchased parade laps before qualifying starts on Friday. Would like to mount a camera inside and have someone take footage from beside the track as well. Any ideas. Do they rent Go Pros at the track?

Past experience?

fastlaneracing 06-10-2011 04:07 PM

The bulletcam is some noname full HD camera I got for free just for promoting it on the swedish forums, I can hook you up with one but I guess you can find one in USA for better price.

I take the sound from any suiting camera, it depends.

I can just see a front one sticking out, yes. I have a new GoPro and was just wondering how it can stick there in front. It looks precarious.

fastlaneracing 06-11-2011 07:24 AM

I have an aluminium plate behind My licens plate and i screwed the black holders through licens plate and alu plate. Have run like that in 3 years now

fastlaneracing 06-17-2011 12:49 PM

Another clip, getting better and better.. soon the instructor wont yell at me ;)
