Movie: RX-8 Vs RX-8 track battle =)
|
very cool!!
|
nice
|
The exhaust note sounds like an RC Airplane.
|
The video is playing faster than recorded. ;) Hence the RC airplane sound.
|
Thanks and no its not speeded up. Why would i do that?

Nice vid! The speedup effect is likely due to the effect of the GoPro proximity to the ground...plus the nice music :)
|
Thank you :)
Bingo! Moving a gopro (or any camera) towards the ground makes it feel faster, move it up and it seems slower. Just look at an rc car movie, it seems to move at warp speed :) Have many hours of movie, also an incar bulletcam. Will get it rendered as soon as possible :) |
that looks liek a fun track!
|
just playin'. ;)
|
The music was really annoying, but nice vid other than that.

Aside from that, cool video. Any info on the other car? |
Great Vid!!! I like the way you let up and waited for them.
What setup to you have to take front and rear same time frame? Please explain your setup. Thanks |
Cool video and thanks for sharing ;)
|
Thanks! =)
There will always be people that want music and vise versa, cant please them all... but in the longer clips I will just let the engine sing (or scream) for you =) My camera setup is one front GoPro HD, one rear GoPro HD and one incar bulletcam HD. I use Sony Vega PRO 10 and i sync the cameras in the software manually. Next clip is with instructor, cant decide if I should switch between cameras our show them all? what do you guys think? http://vimeo.com/24908389 |

I would like to see that one replaced by a bullet-cam on the steering column, so that we all can monitor the gauges. The other camera angles are spot on. Over all... very well done! |

Plus shifts are obvious from the kazoo like engine note :) Where and to what is the front camera mounted? |
I like the music on the first one but still hear the exhaust note. What bullet cam is that and which camera is picking up the sound? all of them and you edit?
Very Cool, I need to get something together for the Rolex Grand-Am race at Laguna Seca in July. I purchased parade laps before qualifying starts on Friday. Would like to mount a camera inside and have someone take footage from beside the track as well. Any ideas. Do they rent Go Pros at the track? Past experience? |
The bulletcam is some noname full HD camera I got for free just for promoting it on the swedish forums, I can hook you up with one but I guess you can find one in USA for better price.
http://rejsa.nu/im/_2011/14821_2011-05-12-bulletcam.jpg I take the sound from any suiting camera, it depends. Hot Lap with the instructor below http://vimeo.com/24939336 Both the front and rear camera is mounted on the licens plates |
A picture from the day in the videos.
you see the cameras? http://imageshack.us/f/217/212020110611imgp7479.jpg http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...1imgp7479.jpg/ |
I can just see a front one sticking out, yes. I have a new GoPro and was just wondering how it can stick there in front. It looks precarious.
|
I have an aluminium plate behind My licens plate and i screwed the black holders through licens plate and alu plate. Have run like that in 3 years now
|
Another clip, getting better and better.. soon the instructor wont yell at me ;)

My biggest problem at any track is that im still baby my car, little scared to crash it even if that will eventually happen anyway. |

Third time in 10 years at that track, give it a couple of days more and I will find my way around.

Thanks thats nice to hear. =)
THE best thing you can do is try to run with instructors as mutch as possible and listen to what they say. Many of them have 10+ years of experience. 1 trackday with instructor are at least worth 5 days without, if not even more. You can see more vids here: http://vimeo.com/user4245480/videos |
Great runs Ingemar. You got faster and faster. I really like the way you got through the chicane (Dunlop tire corners) late in the vid. Breaking later and power earlier. You were holding your own against your buddy in the yellow 8. Good driving!!
Looking for a track car myself. Maybe an FC or FD. I found a cheap helmet camera at Frys for $40.00. Going to rig up something for parade laps at Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks. |
thanks, The end of "parisern" part (where you see the dunlop tire) is little tricky. in the end of the day I holded the pedal down from the long sweeper apex al the way into the chicane. the chicane itself is tricky you must line up perfectly for straight braking into it and after that just trash it right into the straight. Look how the instructor dose it in heat 2 movie.
It didnt help that I almost lost it there one week earlier in the rain. http://vimeo.com/24605730 Fun to see my lines compared one week earlier to the ones from the instuctor, I was wise to invite an instructor. =) Dont forget to post that, must be fun to run that parade at Mazdas famous track. |
