More great rotary videos

The first one is a rotary history compilation including some black and white engine test footage. Pretty cool. It shows some of the extreme testing that was done with the 2nd generation RX-7 with some funny moments. Of course it's got all of the RX-7's in it plus others. It ends with an RX-8 driving next to a 787B. Again, cool.

For those of you who have always been curious where everything is inside the engine, here's a video that shows you. It's on a 13B though so the exhaust ports are in the wrong location in relation to a Renesis.

I thought that this was pretty interesting too. It's about the RX-01 being the RX-8.

Great videos! I love the illustrated engine components. Really makes it clear on how the whole engine is put together.

What I found interesting was the 12A Turbo in the RX7 (1st Gen). I've heard of them, but I don't think they were available outside of Japan.

Nice vid, the music sound like it came off of Initial D. LOL!
At the end the 787B looked beautiful, i liked when the guy in the 787B gave it a little gas and the the guy in the RX-8 had to catch up. Danm that 787B looked ready to fly! 4 rotor DEMON!

For '84-'85, the U.S got the GSL-SE as the top of the line car. I have one. It had the first 6 port 13B. It was also fuel injected whereas the other models had carburated 12A's. The rest of the world did not get this combo. They got the car but not the engine. Everywhere else got a nonintercooled (even though it says it is) turbo 12A instead of the 13B. The 12AT was fuel injected as well.

you have an FB? I thought you had an FC... or is it both? lol. good info, I knew there was a 12A, but wasnt completely sure what cars got it. I thought the FB had 12A, but was also rather sure it had 13B... guess it was both.

Apparently, you turned of the option to see signatures. I used to road race a GSL-SE. I found it to feel heavier and less responsive (or fun) than my earlier GS. I think there was only 100 lbs difference in the 2 models.

I have had 2 FC's in the past and currently have an FB. It is getting fixed up to get sold so I can get an FC again. My friend has a nice '89 Turbo II with only 60,000 miles on it. He wants to sell it soon and I don't want to see it go to some dumb kid who will probably install a Veilside kit on it and paint it purple or some other horrible thing. It deserves a good home.

I can only hope therent arent 7's out there having that done to them. Whenever I'm in a position to get a project car, I'm going for an FC. But I think I'd only repaint a stock color and leave body styling stock. If anything it'd be a sleeper.

edit: just after posting I realized you said 60,000 miles... that seems really low for an FC. Has the engine been rebuilt or anything?

Nope, it's all original. It's a nice car but the paint is faded. I plan to basically buy it and drive it over to get painted immediately.
