Mini-photoshoot of my NG

Just got the car off a former member, did not run when I bought it.

Rebuilt and running strong. Just a quick photoshoot after a wash and wax.

Next things on the list are:
-coilovers
-wheel spacers

Then it will be about where I want it appearance wise, at least for a while.

Bought another blown engine to rebuild as well as beef up a bit for turbo in the distant future. I plan on owning this vehicle for quite some time. Its my first rotary, and I am instantly in love.

On to the pics.

Awesome how you threw some life back into it. Not to mention you plan on giving it more go in the future. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it with the blown motor?

total cost to get it back and running.

4,500 on the car
300 on first blown motor i purchased
1500 for rebuild kit

so about 6000 to 7000 total including misc parts

Used the first blown motor for its front rotor and housing, as my front rotor and housing were completely shot.

then bought another blown engine off of e-bay for 400.00, havent really started tearing that block down. But she is seized. The only problem I run into is the fact that most of my tools are at my work. So working on my vehicle can get a bit frustrating, knowing that you have the tool you need at work... and its the weekend.

It was my first time rebuilding or even tearing down a rotary, I know I did an ok job at least with the rebuild, but I honestly dont expect it to last very long. Hence the spare motor. If this rebuild happens to last a while. then great, if not, that fine too. I'll tear it down and see where I went wrong. I am a firm believer of trying it yourself. I would rather try to rebuild my own vehicle, and fail. Then send it out to get fixed. Cant learn if you dont try.

The spare motor will take some time to rebuild around my 60+ hr work weeks, but it will get done, and expect a rebuild thread this time, as I am alittle bit more confident in my abillities now.

Welcome to the addiction. Anyway, who was the former member you bought it from? Just curious...

Awesome man, a rotary deserves to be owned by a real gear head. Welcome aboard.

Thank you, I am an autobody technician by trade, mechanic by trial. Since I could drive cars have been a big part of my life. Only now that I am out of college, and "starting" my life, have I been able to afford a nicer car. I plan to have this one for a while.

Indeed, once they get to that point, it goes into the garage, and the next project car is bought.

Thank you, and yes the NG is by far my favorite color. Glad I was able to find one.
