HALO is something I would so love to do man! Turns out the Army doesn't really agree.

 

You're right out of all the teams I've seen and known guys out of SWTG I really don't know many that are on HALO teams...why is that? I remember back when I was a tanker I used to think all long tabbers were HALO qualified.

 

It is a change in battle strategy. Every SF company has (at least) one team that is all Halo qualified still. However back in the day, jumping into battle was a main infill strategy. Now a days with technology and radar the way it is, jumping in is very hazardous. Don't get me wrong, I have jumped into my fair share of countries. But as a main infill, it has gone to the wayside.

I almost picked to be an infantry, but I decided to ride in a tank...lol

 

i chose between those too!! it was a tough decision. i dont regret going infantry but id still love to drive over cars and blow down walls in a tank. sounds pretty awesome.

 

First pic is my squad and I standing on top of our OP. Second is me doing a sand bag workout. I just got back from my 2nd Afghanistan tour last month. Infantry for life!!

 

I'm in the Signal Corps right now, but I'm planning on going Aviation Warrant Officer and flying anything... well... ROTARY

Only reason I joined the army in the first place was to fly helicopters one way or another.
