Smile Mazdaspeed RX-8 Wallpaper

Hi all, new member here. I've always been intrigued by the RX series, and especially the RX-8, but it was seeing the Mazdaspeed version that really won me over. Unfortunatly, I'm a poor college student, so it'll be a while before I can have one myself. But anyway, I made a wallpaper featuring the beautiful thing, and thought some people here might enjoy it as well. :D

(Click for 1600x1200 version)

Would you be referring to the snow plow? :p I agree, I don't really like it either. Lemme see what I can do...

EDIT: That's gonna be a pain to take off. Don't worry, it won't be the last wallpaper I make.

Grandpa? I'm 18 years old. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mazdaspeed kit, I simply prefer it without the black lower lip spoiler . . . in other words, as it is now shown on Mazdaspeed's website. I'm not against it, it's just not my style.

can you size down the wallpaper a little bit? i'm thinking about using it as a background my webpage and it's a little too big.

thanks!

I don't run 1600x1200 either. But I made it that big in order to accommodate everyone up to that size. If you're running WinXP, it'll do the resizing for you, so I didn't feel the need to make multiple sizes. Resizing isn't too hard...there's lots of free programs that will do it in seconds.

1600x1200 is really nice 'cause it's easy to scale down (yourself) to nearly any resolution you want, maintaining quality... even for lowly 800x600 rez screens like the one on my laptop.

Hey I'm not a grandpa...yet But I just don't get all the extra crap you youngsters have to bolt on to your cars. Most of it isn't functional, adds weight, and takes away from the natural lines of the car, besides looking like cheap rice (right Herc?). The "Fast and Furious" look may be ok for a Civic but not our RX-8's. IMHO

This isn't the "F&F" look. They packed stickers and bright coloyurs onto their cars. This is a very conservative body kit. If you don't like it, who cares. Don't try and bring the car down bcause of it. This car is for the Mazda driver who wants something a bit different from the RX-8.

There's a difference between "Oh my God that's ugly; how could anyone ever want one of those" and "No thanks, I'll take mine plain."

I agree when it's a boring Civic or Focus or Saturn. The "plain" RX-8 is far from boring...or plain for that matter.
Besides if we all liked the same styles you youngsters would be driving around in the same cars as us old folks. Wouldn't want that now would we?

Question WTF

WTF is wrong with everyone here?! We have all come to join in the harmony that is the rotary and we're simply bickering about immaterial physical differences...

Such drivel has no place on our forum.

I am young in years, but wise in mind; even I can give creedence to modernity, alternatives, aesthetic preferences. There is value in both opinions. (I sound like a Hare Krishna...)

But seriously, don't knock it. Both styles are fine. I would like to see the addition color-matched as is now the case on Mazda's website, but even so, a 'regular' '8 with the MS organs would suit me just fine. We could spend whole lifetimes arguing about the clean lines and added touches and 'unnecessary weight' and so on ad infinitum, but why would we?

I have one personal preference, you may have another. So let it be at that...

Used Photoshop 7. I had to cut the RX8 out by hand...not really that big of a deal. Then just put it in front of the rotary.

And I see you noticed that the wing is gone. :D Just a personal preference of mine.

KAI: i also use Adobe Photoshop 7.. :D but i rarely play around with it. The only thing i can do is change the color of the cars or putting effects on them. I dont know how exactly you cut from one pix and paste onto another pix. Maybe i just dont have the tallent to do this kind of work... Great job nevertheless!! Im impress :D

People who like the rx8 in stardard form then it is ok for me... others who would like to modified their rx8 such as the MazdaSpeed is also fine by me. We all have our own individual taste.

Often we would like to express our character like adding bodykits and even modifying our cars for the performance. IMHO, if all the car in the world would look & perform the same then thats boring!! Thats why there are companies such as AMG, Ac Snitzher, Mazdaspeed, TRD and etc because we like to have our car different.

I personally dont care what people do to their cars because it is their car, and not mine.
