alnielsen 06-16-2008 03:13 PM

"It's f*** hot"
No shit you live in Phoenix. It has cooled to 70 here.:)

MazdaManiac 06-16-2008 03:14 PM

Damn hot.
115°F.
At least the humidity is only 2%.
The swamp cooler is barely doing its thing, though.

Its a 2-car garage and one whole stall is filled with motor-swap-related junk.

Kane 06-16-2008 03:22 PM

U missed a spot.....

LOL

alnielsen 06-16-2008 03:30 PM

Man I don't miss Phoenix and swamp coolers one little bit.

I worked in a Fed-Ex / RPS hub out there by the slaughterhouse, 120 degrees in the trucks, stench of dead meat and those frigging swamp coolers not really making a dent in it.

That kinda weather really teaches you to respect the mmagic of Air conditioning in the house :)

fahrfegneugen 06-16-2008 03:54 PM

Nice garage.

on a serious note, once Paradox gets rolling you guys should put up a permanent webcam in the shop to air for special occasions... or just whenever

ac3mastuh 06-16-2008 05:52 PM

it looks the same now as it did 30 min ago :)

MazdaManiac 06-16-2008 06:01 PM

Temps got over 120°F and I couldn't keep the garage below 105°, so I'm taking a break to watch Top Gear until the sun gets a bit lower.

Jedi54 06-16-2008 06:08 PM

slacker.

MazdaManiac 06-16-2008 06:18 PM

MazdaManiac 06-16-2008 06:24 PM

The side of my car is 190°F and its under a tent!

DeViLbOi 06-16-2008 06:58 PM

And I thought it was bad here yesterday at 80°F w/ 78% Humidity. What was I thinking? :P

jeffe19007 06-16-2008 07:00 PM

At 111 degrees and 8% there won't be any sweat visible. It is gone as soon as it hits the air.

This thread is interesting. Funny how great minds think alike. I was tempted to tell Jeff this weekend that in keeping with the theme of his always tasteful and titillating Avatars, he should advertise "Live... different strippers at the top of each hour" just to see how the traffic would increase 5 minutes before the top of each hour. And... I'm not talking paint!

hey, good idea +1!

190 degrees!!!!:Eyecrazy: jeezus, i flip out when my dashboard is hot cause i didnt use my sunshade during the day....
Honestly, i'd be scared to start and drive the car in 120 ambient and no humidity... i guess fear of the unknown kinda thing, cause i know you guys do it regularly

db_8 06-16-2008 09:54 PM

hey, where's the MazdaManiac Avatar photoshoot webcast??? i'm staying late here at work right now waiting for that!

romycha1 06-16-2008 10:45 PM

I feel like I'm watching The Truman Show.

Easy_E1 06-16-2008 10:49 PM

Hmmmm, I managed to miss this. Thank God.

All I see is a plastic bag blowing around a bit. It does lock a bit cleaner than it was.

Jedi54 06-17-2008 11:30 AM

is it clean yet?

Not really.
At least I can get the car in there again.
It was already 103°F by 9am today.
I'll probably have to start shifting my day to pre-dawn again.

Dive Bum 06-17-2008 11:55 AM

@maniac - Good to see you back on the board... Actually I missed your avatars but that is besides the point.

Jedi54 06-17-2008 01:18 PM

Jeff: that's crazy!

speaking of warming up: I was driving yesterday around 5pm, flying uphill (damn V8 Nissan Titan) and I started to see coolant temps in the 210 area. Hmmm... summer is a coming!

I see that right as I leave the driveway.

Jedi54 06-17-2008 01:38 PM

yeah, but not at 90 mph... :)

MazdaManiac 06-17-2008 02:07 PM

90 MPH out of my driveway? Occasionally...

Jedi54 06-17-2008 02:31 PM

and I don't even doubt it...not for a second! :)

Enjoy your rain, dirty roads and traffic.

Jedi54 06-17-2008 03:41 PM

holy SHIT easy!!! were you stitting in traffic? JUST gotten in the car after it had been sitting out, or were you actually driving in that temp???

MazdaManiac 06-17-2008 03:52 PM

That is a typical highway ambient temp around here when the air temp is 155°+.

Jedi54 06-17-2008 03:57 PM

I don't know how you guys do it.
I'm sure I'll see some triple digit figures this week, but not that high. Worst I've seen was during that heat wave last year (which I KNOW Jeff still remembers) at 117° F

hmmm...might be time to call up Ray for some new hardware

Razz1 06-17-2008 10:08 PM

I saw a high of 75 degrees here at the beach yesterday.

I feel left out :(
