I was thinking we should have something like this, most other groups have one and they do pretty nice. They are fun and we all get to see each others rides. I was thinking on setting one up for Rx8s if everyone else had an interest. Maybe get a few other people besides my self and come up with some rules for posting their cars like a minimum limit of ## pictures with ones being a front, side, rear, and angle picture. This would allow us to judge all cars equally. But then have it where you can post ## of pictures with your desire angle or whatever.

I would be happy to run this with peoples help, i would also like to donate a prize to each months winner. Prize being a car care product of whatever value. This would hopefully get more people involved and make it funner. If you guys have more ideas or comments post them up. As you can see im doing a turbo build this winter and hopefully have the whole car done with exterior by March so i can participate in this and hopefully win one!

i have seen this on another forum as well.

i recommend one exterior, one interior, and one engine bay pic from each entrant. then list all your mods. then set up a poll after everyone enters. that way it can be judged by all aspects and not just the exterior.

 

I agree, was gonna post this up too. Have a guide line so every entrant can be judged with the same aspect. I thought we could have the first 2-3 weeks of each month for people to post up their pictures and then we can organize them and then set up a poll. Do you know how many entries we can have per poll??

 

Adding to this thread, I think we should have different themes every month. Like Nuke mentioned, one month should be for the best interior, the other exterior, one for performance, wheels, etc.

it failed i think 3 or 4 times......between the nominations and the voting.....search in the general section and i think you might find them

 

yeah, type in "rx8 of the month" in an advanced search for titles only and you get a few of the ones that have been attempted.

 

Well does it hurt to try again?? It be nice even if we get 10-15 people every month. but its up to everyone i guess.

 

i dont really like the idea. it seems like it would promote conformity within the community because people may try to imitate the top 8's.

well personally i know it will be hard out there for people to imitate a car that has been modded right. For one the money you have put in it, not many people are doing that and arent going to do it just to copy you. (NOT you, you..) And in the good side i think its cool that people want to do what you did to your car to theirs, it shows that your doing the right thing and people like it.

 

Are you serious,,, people hate getting opinions of thier cars, after this happening so many times and people getting tired of thier cars being bashed, the typically accepted response is now "IMO I would have done something else but hey whatever floats your boat." this forum is full of post that start out 'what do you guys think of my ride' they always end up with the person being offended and super defensive and bitching "whaaa wha, if you dont have anything nice to say then dont post"

but personally I would like to participate, perhaps create a commity or board that everyone would submit to and that group of people would select and post the 8 of the month.

 

i agree. and people generally hate when people copy them. its not flattery. its copying.

 

yea if i remember right this thread didnt work to well previously, i would like the idea, you get to see some great rides, as well as show of your own. im just not sure if it would work. Should make it where you have to nominate someone elses ride and you cant nominate your own. i think that would make it a little better

Well if you guys feel that if you post pictures of your car your gonna get copied then by all means dont participate. I just feel that everyone at one point has copied somebody not just to COPY but cause they had something that looked great and you just liked it as well. And for the bad comments to peoples car yeah i understand i hate it when people just say "not my taste" and then dont post why its not their tastes. People will always be biased but we cant help that. Were here to have fun and post each others cars.

I am gonna go through this if i can help some help from some other people willing to do this as well. We will set some rules so people feel save and dont have to get trashed about their cars and what not. So if you want to help me out in anyway please PM me.

Maybe even have a bracket system like the final four in college basket ball or something,, I dont know its gonna be tough...Especially because ther are alot of really nice 8s here...

 

I like the bracket Idea!!!

We should have a dedicated couple days (IE DEC 12-14) and a trusted member to PM. Then have that member pick the 10 RX8's with the highest votes, then start a bracket.


Maybe have a preliminary thread of just pics to show everyone each members car in detail in one location to make it easy as opposed to searching.

Im just spitballing here.
