i tried to start the car and it wouldnt...called the dealer and told em what was up they told me to call mazda roadside assistance and i did.

anyways make long story short...battery had died on me...they put in new one and i told em while they were at it to change the oil.

anyhow now on the rotors and brakes. idk the price it was a gift from my father. i turned 21 on Thursday...so he wouldn't tell me how much they cost...as for the brand i asked him he said he cant pronounce it..once i go over his house ill look at the box and stuff.

well decided to install it and my gf also surprised me with clear corners so i installed those as well. I'm one of the guys now HEHHEEHEHE

Very nice. I opted for the Racing Brake two piece slotted as they are light weight and the center(where the lug bolts are) is black. Because mine are two piece, there are also air slots between the cap and the rotor face, but then again.......I had to buy them, so kudos to dad for hooking you up!
+1 for the clears! Looks good!

Cool dad indeed. Hope they came with rust prevention. I opted for Racing Brake as well, but did not need 2-piece.

Just curious, you having any rust issues at all. I'm not and am wondering if I ever will? Had my RB's for about 6-8 months now I think.......It's kinda nice not to have those damn rusted rotors ain't it? Of course I bought them for the weight, stopping, and venting, but it's a real plus!

I didn't get the drilled though.

I have had my cross/slot rotors on for sometime now and I wash my car a lot. So far no rust.
Also you should have painted them calipers silver

The only bit of rust I have are on the rear rotors because the pad does not cover the entire surface. There's almost 1/2 inch of exposed surface closest to center. I may have to paint that area to match the black. We installed Racing Brake slotted on my friends 8 and noticed the same thing. Kind of odd that the entire surface is not being used.

I have that somewhere, I'll try and dig it up.
I did this when I shipped my stock rotors to someone in VA....I think it was??????

Found it, but all should know about this sticky!!!!!!

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-racing-25/weight-stock-rx8-parts-81791/

So here is the answer for an MT with the sports package, but do not quote me!

OEM
Front rotors = 18.5lbs
Rear rotors = 12.5lbs

Racing Brake two piece
Front rotors = 14.1lbs
Rear rotors = 9.85lbs
