Limpbozkit's picture thread
Hey all, instead of having multiple different picture threads I figured I would just make one for my current and future pics so as not to clutter up the forum. I went out tonight with my Nikon D3100 and a tri-pod in hopes of getting some good night shots. I got some mediocre shots instead. I'm convinced the pictures didn't come out as good as they could have for a number of reasons but the main one being this is my first DSLR camera and because I don't know how all the features work, I took these using automatic settings. Just curious if anyone else has a Nikon and when taking night shots what iso and shutter settings they use? Anyways I'm open to suggestions and criticisms.

not a fan of the wheels, or the gas cap
higher iso yields to more noise
with a dark setting like this, u need to open the aperture to its widest settings
i.e. the lowest number in the Av mode.
the 3100 shud have pretty decent noise control.
so i'd say 3200 iso and whatever the lowest aperture on ur lens shud do the job at night.
but then again ur better off taking pictures at a brighter spot.

The carbon fiber fuel door matches the hood and I always liked this picture,

I know the wheels are factory but the sun shining on them makes them look gold and I really liked the look of the gold wheels on the red RX-8. Plus most people buy black or gunmetal wheels so I decided to go a little different.

Here's a new picture I took today.

Always try to keep your ISO as low as possible increasing it increases noise in your photo's.
For night shots keep your aperture as wide as possible and slow down your shutter speed to 2 seconds or more and use your tripod. You'll have to play with these settings depending on the lighting.
Also, in most situations don't use your flash, it usually results in harsh highlights and shadows.

I used to own an srt-4 lol. personally its not my style but its not my car lol. I always say that modding a car is changing it to suit your taste everyone has different taste.
planning on lowering it?

I don't quite know how I feel about the wing, it's different, but it's not that bad. Looks like it really depends on the angle, haha. Also are the wheels 17's? I wouldn't mind seeing them one size bigger, and a bit more low, personally.
But, with the color of the wheels, the cf hood, and the new look you've got in the last picture period, I like it.

Yea I still haven't seen or heard of anyone else doing it so to that extent it's definitely unique. I like the looks of it a lot, it stood out quite a bit more before the body kit. My thread about it is here

I don't plan to lower it considering how much lower the Mazdaspeed front is. I ALMOST scrape getting in and out of my driveway so it will probably stay stock ride height. As for the wheels they are 18's running the same tire size as the OE wheels.
