Lime Rock Park MazdaSpeed Corral 08

Best Mazda meet ever! I'm so looking forward to next year. Everyone was welcoming including the members, race drivers, managers, event coordinators, etc. Big thanks to Marlon, Laurie, and Ray. Love what you do for the Mazda crew. Cleveland 6 Crew rocks! Wish ya'll lived closer to us NEPOC folk.

Nice meeting all the 8 owners and seeing new faces. Wish I could have chatted more, but to busy organizing people.

And to all that assisted in putting this together in whatever big or small way, thank you!

SpeedSource RX-8 took 2nd place!

It was a blast getting to meet you guys. I still haven't sorted through the 1000+ pics I have, but as soon as I do I will post a link to them. I will say though the best shot I may have on the camera is a shot of Tremblay giving me bunny ears while taking a pic next to the #70 RX-8, hehe.

Glad everyone had a great time. I may be up at the Glen on the 7th and 8th, hopefully if I make it out there I'll see a few of you.

Yep, that's me. The head is ok, it's peeling pretty good right now. I guess that's what happens when I don't shave it for a good 3 months and then spend 3 days out in the blazing sun with a bald noggin, hehe

And ready for this one, with all the tanks of gas I went through, I averaged 23.58 mpg for the whole trip there and back My best two tanks were 24.3 and 24.8. I can't believe the car did that well.

Great mileage Brian! I got 19 for the weekend and I was happy. Looks like I won't be able to make to the Glen next week but I'm working on New Jersey Motorsports park for August 31st. I'll be sure to practice my grilling skills over the summer

I finally got around to uploading a few photos from our corral at Lime Rock.

The first day's photos are in this album:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v80/rayn...0one/?start=all

Stay tuned for more photos.

The was an explosive growth of RX-8s in Koni Challenge ST Class - a testament to the race-proven RX-8.

ROAR graciously welcomed our corral participants to their paddocks to talk
about the team, their cars, etc.

Two Rays don't make a wrong. I've actually met Ray Ray. He's the fueler for Hypersport, and quite a character.

Former Tri-Point Mazda6 driver, Randy Pobst, driving for APR Motorsports.

The crew wheels Jason Saini's 6 to the scales.

Charles Espenlaub during practice. Unfortunately, he never did manage to find a good setup all weekend and thus he struggled with pace.

Chip Herr at turn 2.

Patrick Lindsey in the #57 Horton Motorsports Mazda6

Jim Daniels driving the #75 Tri-Point Mazda6. Jim made his Mazda6 debut the week before in Utah.

A friend of the Mazdaspeed corral, Charlie Putman comes out of the turn.

Not even a crash earlier in practice can deter five time World Challenge champion Michael Galati.

Jason Saini coming off a great win at Miller, Utah.

Finally got around to uploading photos from day two! More to follow!

The complete day two album:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v8...LRP/day%20two/

Astral rolls into the corral.

Nick "The Hamster" Ham in the 70 SpeedSource car.

A corral full of Mazdas and Mazda enthusiasts

A few corral participants got to be flag bearers for the Mazdaspeed teams.

The Mazdaspeed teams ready the cars at false grid. In the background, the Skip Barber MX-5 race is in full swing.

Chip Herr, driver par excellence.

Jim Daniels in the Freedom Koni Challenge MX-5.

Jim also drives the Mazda 6 for Tri-Point Motorsports.

Charles Esplenaub rockets through turn 4.

"The Hamster" drops by the corral to hang out with Mazda fans.

This particular fan was overcome by the sheer awesomeness that is Nick Ham. Or, was it because of the beer? Or the heat? Nevertheless, his face has been stuck like that since.

Craig Stone hands a hero card to Chrism.

Too cute!
