So what kind of camera, and viewing system do you have? What do you see back there? Topless ladies???

Wow looks great! I'd be all over a set of those if the price was somewhat reasonable.

The D200 is nice but this isn't low dispersion glass in this lens, you can see the LED reverberation on the lens elements (the ghost led lights near the exhaust pipes on the straight back pic)

I registered (being the owner of the camera and the photographer for these pics) just to say that you're wrong about the lens. It's a 17-35 f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S. That is low dispersion glass. Doesn't mean it's flare, relection, or reverberation proof.

I defend the honor of my equipment!

Awesome man. You previously asked if folks would be interested in just purchasing the circuit boards...I certainly would, as long as there were decent instructions on installation. If it's too much of a PITA, I think most folks would lean towards just swapping out the tails completely. Fortunately for me, I also have a Miata, so could pull my tails and ship them for the conversion. Tasty! Also, Woodsofgreen's idea for selling full lighting kits was a great one!

Dunno if it's my eyes or not, but did you also replace the LEDs in the twin marker lights at each corner of the tails? They look brighter to me than stock, but it could just be the camera...

It's a 120 degree reverse image camera. Check out my website.

Yesterday I started on a second pair of tail lights. These are the pair that were on my car before. I wanted to time myself and see just how long it would take. I'm not done yet but I can tell already that selling complete tail lights is not feasible. It just takes too long do. Cutting the back of the tail light and making the formica piece count for a large amount of the time involved.

This second pair is slightly different than the first, from the exterior, the units are identical. The main difference is that I used a hot knife to cut the tail light. This means that I can reuse the original plastic. On the first set the back of the unit was sealed with 1/16 industrial rubber. Another change resides in the circuitry, this unit will have a slightly more complex system. In theory, it will keep the tail lights from dimming when the car is started.

This means that I will have one pair of complete tail lights for sale. As of right now, there is a good possibility that I will sell just the circuit board. This way people don't have to ship out there tail lights. And he or she can choose whatever color he or she wants for the mounting plate. (It seems some people objected to my choice of gloss black.)

And lastly, the pictures are flawless to my eyes, and that's all that matters.

Rodger, with our recent weather here in Cali, did you get any fogging on the rear lenses?

Nope. I've been keeping a close eye on them just in case. I've washed the car twice since installing them. Both times I hit the lights pretty good from all directions with the hose. So far everything is dandy.

The pictures above were actually taken right after I washed the car, hence the wet pavement.
