So BHR decided to go to Las Vegas and spend some time watching Mazdatrix Race their cars around the track at LVMS.
Let me tell you that was a couple of exciting days watching all the race teams perform. I would like to say thanks to Dave Lemon and Kyle Mohan, and the fine crews that kept their Mazda's going around the track all weekend. It was a pleasure. So with out further ado,,, Mazdatrix!

nice! how did the procharged 8 hold up at the track?

 

He ran well but could have been a bit better. A little more tuning with the new Haltech Platimun. The Haltech being brand new.
This is what happened to the stock coils.

 

Sexy! I was hoping to see the Mazdatrix RX8 when i was at the NJ RLTA event in April.

 

Thanks for the pics Easy! Did the Mazdatrix guys say if they had any heat issues with the procharged 8? What type of event was this?

 

It was in the upper 70's that day. And Dave Lemon in the RX8 was seeing coolant temps around the 210 mark.

They are saying 409 HP. Whether that at the wheels or on an engine dyno I have no idea.

wow, that stock coil died a horrible death.
I can't imagine what that would have looked like in typical 100°F Vegas sun...

(probably wouldn't be running the cars at that temp but one can only imagine...)

 

Actually that's what happens when you add 3.2ms of dwell to a stock coil. It didn't last a lap. The BHR kit is running at 4.70ms of dwell on the RX8 and no issues. Dave said he felt an increase in low end power after the install.
He was very happy with the BHR ignition.
