Kyouto Drift RX8 Feature
So, this car definitely deserves it's own thread. Many of you may have seen pictures here or there, I just happened to stumble upon the full feature yesterday and thought I would share.

Where to start, well basically this feature was a bit of an accident. Tim, James and Will were on their way to shoot the fire breathing RX7 of Steve Putt when they received some news that meant they would not be able to. Fear not however: the feature will be coming and when it does, boy are you in for a treat. So a few rushed phone calls later and we were on are way from Yeovil to Bristol, James unfortunately had to head home but Tim and Will soldiered on. When we arrived at the unknown location we were presented with an amazing array of drift machines, RX7s, S13s, a BMW chopped up pickup?!!? But more importantly – Brad Hacker’s RX8, fresh from its little trip to Dragon Performance.
Up close and in person this car is a work of art and truly a spectacle to behold – I’ve never even seen an RX8 converted for drift use on the Internet, let alone in the flesh!
Kyouto Drifter Lum: “We can remember Brad’s exact words when he first got the 8…… I’m going to tidy it up, paint it, get some wheels & keep everything else standard. It’ll make a nice tidy road car……..”

Large Street port
Garrett GT35R single turbo conversion
Custom exhaust manifold to bring the turbo up & forward for clearance in the bay, made in house at kyouto drift
KG parts fuel rails with 2x 1680cc injectors & 2 x 850cc
custom t’triple stack V-mounted intercooler, radiator & oil cooler using Trust cores
all boost hardpipes custom made by kyouto drift for minimal bends & joins
Hi-flow in tank fuel pump
Swirl pot & external Bosch 044 pumps mounted in boot
full custom Kyouto 4″ exhaust system from rear of turbo to twin exit pipes

HKS EVC vi boost controller
Apexi power FC ECU
Dragon Performance Water injection kit

Hydraulic handbrake cylinder modified for use with original factory hand brake lever

mix of mazdaspeed & R-Magic bodykit with custom made carbon lower spliters on front & sides
Custom made carbon rear diffuser fins on rear bumper
bonnet vent cutout for v-mount setup
Custom Re-spray in one off Kyouto Drift “Rotary Pink”
