Just bought an RX-8 (pics)

I just bought car number 3 and am proud to say that I am the owner of a brand new 05 RX-8 (base w/ sports pkg)... and damn I love this car!

My other cars are a 240whp 97 GS-T and a 310whp 05 Evo MR. Currently, I am having the most fun with the RX-8. 6000 RPM is almost where it ends for my GS-T/Evo but that's where it begins for this car. It's not quite an Evo, but I am VERY impressed with the handling of this car. The car overall is definitely much more refined and smooth than both of my other cars.

I can't wait to take it to the track w/ my Evo soon to see how it handles itself!

Here are some pics:

LOL, oh great, first you make me jealous over on the Evo forum (Siberian), now you rub it in over here too, lol...

You must have SUCH a difficult time deciding what car to take out...

Hi again... congrats again

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm glad to finally be a part of the club!

Yep, it's titanium grey.

I'm a senior game programmer over at The Collective. www.collectivestudios.com. Nothing too glamorous.

Who says video game programmer isn't glamorous? It isn't quite MY thing but I know plenty of guys who would love to work on games all day and earn enough money to drive an RX-8 home just to take the Evo MR out for a spin...

Well, I'm probably going to give the GS-T to my younger brother. I did not want to let all of the work and money I put into the car to go to waste or unappreciated and he needs a car so...

Then, I'm seriously considering getting a Miata for sunny day cruising. Before I bought the RX-8, I had a really tough decision between it and the turbo miata.. I think I made the right choice.. Plus the new miata is coming out soon...

I'll be your other brother and you can give me the Evo. Give brother #2 the GS-T.

Welcome and congrats on the 8.

That Evo has got to scream with 310hp.

There are a lot of different jobs in game programming...
Some people strictly work on programming AI. Some people work strictly with environments. Some people work on scripting.

It’s a very competitive field. Just do a google for “Game Programming” if it’s something you are really interested in.

BTW: Nice 8 =]

Well.. there's a job link on our site w/ a description. As senior game programmer I'm pretty much just taking specifications from designers, scripters, artists and level designers for various things they want in the game. For example, I just finished up Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. On that, I was responsible for all force powers, light saber effects, bosses, physics, some AI, ship battles, and lots of other things.. As well as other boring "core tech" things such as XML systems and memory optimizations.

It's pretty cool because it's something new all the time.
