Varis is unmatched in design and quality, not only is the fitment spot on but even the CF weave is amazing on this thing. Almost pained me to paint over most of it. Almost...

I was curious what you guys would think of the hood, in MY mind it was going to look great but taste can vary greatly so it's nice to see others appreciate it as well.
I'll need to get some better pics from the front of the car so you can really appreciate the detail on that paint job. The lines on it are flawless, everyone at the dyno day kept running their fingers on it and were amazed at how well it was painted.
I think I might be turning into a jdm parts *****.

bottom of the 1st post mentions who I worked with to get parts in case any one else is wondering.
The Varis hood and Au-to bahn were ordered through Bulletproof Automotive here in Los Angeles. Bulletproof's prices were very similar to japanparts.com but since they're local I was able to pick up the parts from their warehouse in Gardena and avoid domestic shipping charges (which get EXPENSIVE for large body parts)
The bumper took 8 months to arrive
The Varis hood was here 11 months later. (this is the 2nd Varis hood they sent me.
)The Vertex Lang side skirts were ordered through Luxury Mods here in SoCal, they're a direct distributor for Vertex USA
Suspension came from SP Engineering (home of the world's fastest GT-R's)

Jedi, you already had one of my favorite RX8's but damn, just went above and beyond with all the new modifications!
I love how well the Ings+1 rear side diffusers match up pefectly with the Vertex Lang side-skirts. That Varis hood has always been my favorite visual mod for the RX8 as well.

Aside from the Mazdaspeed kit, there wasn't a full kit anywhere out there that appealed to me so instead I went for the Frankenstein strategy and decided to try and use the best parts from available sources hoping it would end up a masterpiece instead of a hideous monster.
It was no easy task finding parts that not only flowed well together but that I also LIKED but with the help of a few people, I think it all came together nicely.
Thanks 2tone!
The original idea was to paint the entire hood Brilliant Black but the more I thought about it, the more I simply couldn't bring myself to paint a CF Varis hood, I needed to find a way to integrate paint AND retain the original beauty of the CF.
^yeah, i think cf hood is too much too, but leaving that hint of cf shows how nice it is w/o screaming CARBON FIBER IN YO' FACE!
thanks for glazing right by my spoiler comment, jerk
